Green with Envy? – Simple Modern Vacuum Insulated 20oz Cruiser Tumbler with Lid.

We have entered the age of the stainless steel tumbler, lol. They are popping up everywhere and from anyone, it seems. I love that too! These cups are amazing, amazing, amazing. We all use them daily in my household. They truly keep the cold drinks colder, longer, and the hot drinks, hotter, longer. I only have boring silver in my home though. So, I was beyond excited to be able to review this awesome bright green 20oz tumbler from Simply Modern on Amazon. I ordered the Candy Apple Green, but they do have it available in plain stainless steel, and 7 other powder coated colors. The finish of my green color is vivid, and smooth to the touch. So far so good with durability. The tumbler is constructed out of the 18/8 Stainless Steel I am used to seeing with these type of tumblers. The top does create a very tight seal, which is important for the insulation factor. It has the small mouth opening that I am also accustomed to. My thin stainless steel straws fit into it perfectly. My guys use this size all the time. They work on the road as commercial electricians, and depend on quality cups to carry their drinks. This size is great for cars. It fits into our cup holders without issue. The construction of this cup is the double walled construction, with a vacuum seal in between. That is what makes for the great insulation effects. I love that no matter what the temperature of the drink inside of the cup, the outside of the cup is never uncomfortable to touch and hold. Steamy hot drinks, no problem. Icy cold drinks, you can’t even tell. We do have the 20oz Yeti cup to compare this cup to, and it performs just as well! This cup is dishwasher safe, but I always hand wash everything, anyhow. Everyone always says, is the cup leakproof. Well, no, duh, lol. There is a whole in the lid. That always cracks me up. The seal itself is fantastic, and we have no leaing from around the seal. Fortunately, the drinking hole is small, and down from the edge. With regular walking, your fine and dandy. If you bend over to pick something up, and your cup is in your hand, it will leak out, lol. Yes, I have done that, and more than once too. We really love the bright green color. We call it Zombie Green, haha. It’s easy to spot, so hopefully, you won’t leave it on top of your car, or behind on your outing. You’ll be able to tell if a family member or coworker tries to claim it as theirs. We absolutely love it, and have no complaints. It’s a formidable challenger on the Stainless Steel Tumbler market.

My family and I all use these new double walled stainless steel cups. I would feel bad about not using my Tervis cups, but these cups really help keep my cold drinks cold, longer, and our hot coffee drinks, hotter, longer. You really can’t lose with these. This is another brand (Chief) that has entered the competition among the stainless cup industry, lol. It is a 20oz stainless steel insulated cup, with a lid. The lid is just like the lid on our 20oz Yeti that we have. The seal is nice and tight, and holds very well. There is that usual small opening to drink out of. I like that they included the stainless steel straw that will fit into this cup. They actually include a set of 4 stainless steel straws, and 1 straw cleaning brush. This is definitely the eco-friendlier way to go over disposable straws. I have been using a stainless steel straw and cup for a very long time now, and I do not ever taste a flavor difference with the metal. This tumbler has been able to hold its’ own amongst its competitors that we own. I always have an ice cold drink with me, even bedside, so it’s important that my ice last as long as it can. If you just place ice in here, you will have some ice left in it the next day. My throat is always swollen due to frequent anaphylactic reactions, so this is a must have feature for me. I think that’s pretty wild that ice will last so long in this cup; I love that. This cup will not leach chemicals into your drink either. It is obviously BPA free. It will not shatter or crack on you, if you drop it. Your hands will not get cold or hot when holding this either, due to its’ great insulation. Since stainless steel doesn’t rust, you will not have to worry about your cup not lasting for you. We use a Keurig to make our coffee. This will not fit, but if you brew a large cup of coffee, that will fit in here perfectly, and allow enough room for milk. So, the large cup setting is a perfect match for this cup, if you add milk to your coffee. If you drink it black, it still fits, and there will be some room left over in it. Another great to go benefit, is that it will fit into your car cup holders well. It fits into all of my cup holders. This is another must have feature for us as well. This has held up to our testing, and our must haves. They even have it available in the 30oz size as well. It’s a welcomed addition to the stainless tumbler market.

Another great tumbler. – Simple Modern Vacuum Insulated 30oz Stainless Steel Tumbler.

Let me tell you, we had been converted Tervis people. Then, my son moved us over to the Yeti stainless cups. We have officially been converted over to the Yeti side, lol. I have tried other competitor brands, but this is my first 30oz competitor cup. I use my 30oz Yeti every day! I just love it. So, I was very, very curious and excited about testing out this competitor. I love the challenge. This mug looks just like my Yeti. It has a smaller bottom area, so it can fit in my car cup holder. I will not use a cup, if it doesn’t fit in my car. My throat swells shut all of the time due to numerous life threatening allergies. My throat is always swollen and sore. I always have a cup fully of an icy drink to sip on, 24/7. My throat wakes me up during the night, and I sip on the icy drink. It really helps. So, it is very important to me that my cup can keep my drink cold for an extended period of time. I did an ice test on this cup first thing. I filled it to the top with ice, and then placed the top on. The top has silicone rings around it, and it creates a great seal. Mind you, there is a drinking hole in the lid. You can fit a narrow straw through this. I have thin stainless steel straws that we use with these cups. After 25 hours, there was actually still some ice left in the cup. It performs as well as my Yeti, which makes me very happy!!!! It even comes in 8 different color choices, for no additional cost. It is made out of 18/8 stainless steel, and has the double wall construction. It is toxin free, chemical free, and safe to drink both hot and cold liquids out of it. My husband took his coffee to work with him. He had a 3 hour drive to the office, too. He is very happy with how this cup is performing with hot liquids. The double wall construction is great. I wouldn’t have it any other way. The cup never sweats. It is comfortable to both hold and drink out of this cup. You can put steamy hot coffee right from the Kuerig in here, and not feel the heat through the cup. We haven’t been able to find any negatives with this cup. It has held its own against our Yeti. Modern look. – BEIYI’s Towel Rail Rack Chrome Polished Stainless Steel Single Bar.

I never really think of updating things like towel bars. But, it is such an affordable and easy way to spruce up your bathrooms. Everything else in a bathroom is so expensive to update, when it comes to fixtures. We are planning on moving, and the home has a half bath in it. This towel bar from BEIYI on Amazon, is perfect for a half bath. I am so excited by it. It is a single towel bar, in that it would nicely hold one bath towel. It can and does hold two hand towels nicely too. I love, love, love the updated modern look of this towel rod. It is really nice looking to me. It is a chrome plated, stainless steel towel rod. It won’t rust on you. They even include all the hardware to mount it. It is lightweight though, which is perfect for me. They are so much easier to hang in awkward spots, if they are lightweight. If you have children that like to hang from your towel bars, this is not for you, lol. This towel bar is rated to hold up to 22lbs. So, a wet towel is fine. Kids, not so much. Of course, it all depends on how well you hang it too. I laugh at this because someone close to me hung her towel holders so well, they pop off the wall regularly, if you are not careful, lol. The towel bar itself measures out at 22 ½” long x just over 3 ¼” deep. The wall plates extend out a little further. This towel bar reminds me of the modern cabinet pulls seen in a lot of house renovations on TV. It’s a great sleek design, that I see will be timeless for our day and age. The guys in my house really like it also. Pay attention when you are mounting it. Remember to place the screw behind the mounting plate that extends through the middle of the plate. This is so you can attach the arm to it. When it arrives, it looks like one solid plate. Push in the center, and it will separate the two halves for you. Mine did not arrive with separate directions, but they have great photos on their ad page if you need it. Overall, I am really excited about this towel bar. It’s made really well. My set up has no flaws whatsoever to it.

Hot coffee to go. -HappyGo’s Stainless Steel Thermos.

My guys live and breathe on the road for work. Coffee is most definitely one of their staples. This thermos is so cool too. We are thrilled with how HappyGo set up their thermos. It not only is a thermos, but it is also your travel mug. The lid is a little different to open. It looks like you would press a button, and it would pop up, but it doesn’t. There’s a little lever you have to move out of the way, and then you can press and open the lid. So, on the positive side, you will not accidently open this up and spill it. The seal is pretty good as well. It was well done overall. This is a 16oz thermos travel mug. We bought it in black, but they also have it in white, which is a refreshing color. There is a great mouthpiece on this for easy drinking. I really appreciate it because I tend to dribble on myself, lol. The mouthpiece on this is pretty large and deep, so that shouldn’t be an issue for you with this one. My husband has used it for his coffee on the road with great success. There is no glass lining in this thermos. It is 18/8 stainless steel double walled and durable. The lid is made from BPA free Silicone, food grade. There are no toxin worries with this thermos. It doesn’t affect the flavor of your drinks at all either. It just helps to keep your coffee fresh and hot longer and your cold drinks to stay cold, much longer, as well. It’s definitely a keeper for us. It’s a great quality product.

We made the switch to stainless steel straws at least two years ago now. We love them. We only use glass or stainless straws now. With these stainless steel straws, you do not have to worry about any chemicals leaching into your drinks. They clean so easily with the included straw cleaning brush, and are so, so durable. The 18/8 stainless steel straws from Eco at Heart, are thick and highly durable. You are not bending these, lol. You can even use them in your Tervis Tumbler. You could use them in your 30oz Yeti cup as well, if you ordered the new clear top that has the sliding closed lid. These are too wide with the regular top. These straws arrive in eco-friendly packaging; cardboard. It’s actually very attractive packaging. In your package you will receive 5 – 8 ½“ straws and 1 straw cleaning brush. The cleaning brush slides right through the straw, and really cleans the inside of them. These straws are dishwasher safe as well. The diameter of the straws is more than wide enough for smoothies and milkshakes. I have severe food allergies, and my main meals are smoothies, since my throat is always so swollen from frequent anaphylactic reactions. They are comfortable on the lips, and to drink out of. The very first time we used stainless straws, I think we only bumped our teeth once on them, and haven’t done it since. My youngest is a mad straw chewer, so these are really much healthier for him to use. He can’t chew these, and ingest all of those harmful chemicals. These straws were not coated in any chemicals, so they are obviously toxin free; BPA free of course, as well. Included with the straws is an informational sheet. On that is the link to download your free e-book on smoothies. You can’t beat that! They are metal and pick of the temperature of the drink. So, if you are hanging outside in the summer, make sure you touch it first, to make sure it didn’t get hot from the sun. I have never had this issue, but it’s a point I wanted to bring up. A fun knife from Elemental Knives.

Recently, I had my car broken into, and had my being prepared supplies, and self-defense supplies stolen from me. That included my knife unfortunately. So, I was thrilled to be able to review this beauty. This is my first personal knife done in this design. This design is great for show and self-defense. It has a solid grip, a great sheath, and lanyard; perfect for neck carry. It’s a Hawkbill design, and the blade is also full tang as well. This knife is made out of 420 stainless steel. It’s pretty thick and sturdy; not a flimsy, bendy knife in the least. It arrived pretty sharp, but definitely has a factory edge. Pretty much what I expected. Another pro for this knife, is that it also comes with a solid sheath with lanyard hole. That way, when you are wearing it in neck carry mode, you just need to grab the handle, and with a quick tug, the knife is free to defend yourself. The blade on this knife is a 3.5” blade. You will need to check your state laws to make sure this is legal in your state. I’m lucky, it’s legal in mine. The ABS and fiberglass handle is comfortable to hold and it affords a solid grip. There is also a finger hole at the end of the knife. This knife measures 7 ½” in total length. It’s still pretty light at 3.83oz. I like the thumb grip on it. It’s comfortable, but really helps to ensure a solid grip. The finish on the blade and finger hole is pretty sharp looking. This is my first knife with the blade done with a design like this. I find it to be a lot of fun. This knife has found a home in my car. I am glad I have been able to replace my self-defense knife in my vehicle. Now I just need to replace my basic pocket knife.

The fun way to keep your drinks cool. – Kollea Drinks’ 6PCS Stainless Steel Chilling Reusable Ice Cubes.

Adult drinks are yummy, but are not usually chugged on down. I love my drinks cold, but regular ice can and does, water my drinks down. Adding stainless steel ice cubes, a.k.a., Whisky Chillers, can really be helpful. They help keep your drink cooler, for a longer period, without watering your drink down. The stainless steel version, is the new updated version from the soapstone ones. This particular set arrives in a great storage case with 6 stones and a pair of stainless serving tongs. I store mine in the freezer, but if you don’t want to do that, just remember to place them into the freezer about an hour before using them. When my gorgeous set by Kollea Drinks arrived, it came with a plastic storage case, 6 stainless steel chilling cubes, and a pair of stainless steel serving tongs. I washed my cubes and tongs, and placed the entire set into the freezer. Now they are perfect anytime I want to use them. These can be used with any type of drink. Even with your children and their apple juice. First off, these do not add any chemicals to your drinks. They do not add any weird flavor to your drink either. Each ice cube has a nontoxic gel inside of it, which is what freezes and keeps your drinks cooler. These are not ice cubes, and won’t cool your drink as much as they do. They definitely help keep your drink cooler than without them though. It’s a fantastic alternative. To really cool and keep your drink cool, I recommend using 4 -6 of the cubes, depending on your drink size. I am really happy with this set overall. They work perfect in my glass of wine. Overall, I love this set. I already had one set, and now I don’t have to share, lol. This are perfect for pulling out when company is over. They are definitely attention getters.

A modern edge in the kitchen. – The Checkered Chef’s Stainless Steel and Silicone Utensils.

I am a big fan of stainless in the kitchen. It is such a durable material, and so easy to keep clean. Unfortunately, not all pans love stainless. So this silicone/nylon and 18/10 stainless combination is perfect. Aesthetically, I love the modern, clean look. You get 1 holder, 1 spatula, 1 tongs, 1 slotted spoon, 1 spoon, and 1 ladle in this set. I love the stainless holder with the square cut outs. It is really sharp looking, and pretty sturdy as well. There is even room for more cooking utensils in this container as well. Which I find very handy. All of the tools are stainless but the ends have a thick coating of silicone coated nylon on them. They are all a good usable size and are comfortable to hold and use. The tongs do not have a lot of resistance built into them. They are very easy to use, and grip well. Even though you get the holder, each utensil even has a loop to hang them from. I am personally not a utensil hanger, lol, so I am loving the actual holder. Only the very tips of the utensils are soft. Just shy of the edge of the utensil is just silicone coated nylon, but the actual body is solid with the interior stainless body. These are full size, quality made cooking utensils. Overall, there are all approx.. 13” tall. They are even a good size for a man’s hand. They say the nylon gives the strength for the coating, while the silicone give the utensil a strong heat resistance, so there won’t be any worry of it melting. Silicone has a very high heat tolerance rating. I have a set of pans that have a ceramic nonstick coating on them. I love them, and this set of cooking utensils ae perfect for my pans. They are gentle on the finish, but are very sturdy utensils, and do not bend or flex on me. The can handle any meal you throw at them.

Loving my Copper Moscow Mule Mugs from Kangaroo!

I love Copper Moscow Mule Mugs. I love the look, and we are copper fans. These are a little different than some on the market. They state 100% Copper in their name, but they are not copper, nope. These are stainless steel mugs, plated with real Copper. The handles are solid brass though, and quite handsome at that. It annoys me when labeling is misleading. Their real product description is on their packaging though. These mugs are 16oz mugs, and are a great size for a traditional Moscow Mule drink, or any other drink you would like. Just remember, with all metal mugs, they pick up the temperature of the drink you put in them. So, unless you like holding hot mugs, like me, I would stick to cold drinks in these mugs. I also recommend hand washing them with a non-abrasive soap and sponge. They do give you the Moscow Mule recipe on the packaging. I tweaked it a bit for what I am used to. They do not give an amount for lime juice, and I stated one. Here is it:

1oz lime juice

Ice

2oz Vodka

4-8oz of Ginger Beer they state 4 – 6, but most recipes say 8.

Then garnish with a lime slice.

These mugs are very handsome. Aesthetically, they are spot on. I do not feel that the metal alters the flavor of my drink at all. I use stainless steel straws all of the time as well. The rim is rounded, and comfortable on the lips. The inside opening of the handle is on the smaller side, but is comfortable to slide your fingers through it, and cradle the mug in your hand. Overall, I like these mugs. There are no chemical worries with these mugs. Copper is actually healthy for you, and is recommended to drink water out of one daily for health benefits. They will need some gentle care to them to make sure the plating doesn’t come off. These style mugs always impress. They are perfect for entertaining.
