Sculpey – Shape it, Bake it, Wear it! Party with Tryazon

My husband and I do like to craft, and enjoy making many things. We, however, have not crafted with clay yet. Just the usual, playing with clay, that one does with their children. The Sculpey brand has been around for over 50 years. It is a tried and true way to craft with clay. So, it most definitely is a great brand to dive into the clay world, with. I was just so excited to be a part of the Sculpey – Shape it, Bake it, Wear it Party campaign.

We received an expanded version of their Bracelet Kit. The bracelet kit, for purchase, has enough for 4 bracelets to be made, and each bracelet to have 3 charms on it. From their website, each kit contains:

“Make 4 stylish charm bracelets
Clay colors included – Teal pearl and Pearl
Kit includes: 2 oz. Sculpey III clay, 12 decals, 4 plastic squeegees, 4 metal circle cutters, 4 metal bangle bracelets, 12 eye pins, 12 6mm jump rings, 4 plastic rollers, 4 toothpicks, and instruction sheet.”

If you are new to this clay crafting world, I highly recommend watching their YouTube video for the bracelet kit. It is so well done, and easy to understand. After watching it, I was very confident that we would all do well and have a great time. You will need additional supplies. You will need a little container with water for each person to soak their decals in, an index card, or thin piece of cardboard, to place their charms on, as they are made, and then to bake on, at least one paper towel each to dab the water away off the applied decal, and to clean off the squeegee and hands, a pair of small needle nose pliers would be great. A pencil to outline the decals with, and a pair of scissors to cut out the decals. I prepared the decals prior to my guests arriving, to both save time, and to make it more relaxing and easier for everyone. I even wrote everyone’s name on the index card, so when I baked the charms, no one’s charms got mixed up. I placed the charms on their perspective index card, onto a baking sheet, and then into the oven for 20 minutes. It went so smoothly that way.

The included instruction pamphlet is bright, well-illustrated, and written. It has cut lines in it, so you can cut it apart, and then you and your guests can easily share it around the table. I decided to laminate mine, so the instructions would both, not get ruined, and be easier to use with wet hands. Also, when laminated they are sturdier, and easier to prop upright, if needed. The charms need to be baked for 20 minutes at 275 degrees F. They stress to not overbake them, so set a timer, and make sure your oven was preheated thoroughly, first. The laminated sheets ended up being so perfect. We even placed a block of clay to be cut, by the outline of how to cut one, so each was done perfectly.

Now, the clay can damage some surfaces, so make sure you put a smooth work surface down, prior to working with the clay. You can use smooth cutting boards, wax paper, foil, baking trays, and the like. You will also want to make sure you wash your hands prior to working on the clay, and wipe them in between each color, so you don’t accidentally mix the colors.

Now, we chose to invite couples to our party. Many couples love to craft and do things with each other. It is no different than the pottery and wine nights, or the paint and wine outings, that you see everywhere. This, I think, is more fun, because it can be done in home. You can relax and cut up more. Serve food and drinks that everyone will enjoy, and really make an evening out of it. It really is a no brainer. We unfortunately had 1 ½ couples cancel last minute due to both illness and family obligations, but we still had a blast.
I also chose to buy some glow in the dark clay, in case anyone wanted to use that for one of the charms, instead of the included clay. I went to our local Micheals, and they had almost an entire aisle done in just Sculpey clay and accessories. Soooo many colors to choose from. I couldn’t decide, until I saw glow in the dark, and I thought that was just too much fun, so I bought that pack quickly and then bolted, lol. One can easily get carried away with all of those choices. You can check out the Sculpey website and see all the different things they offer. You will be amazed, I promise you.

I am really impressed with the decals. They come in sheets, so you do need to cut them out. The pamphlet and the video show you how to do so. You just place your circle cutter on the sheet, starting from the bottom edge, so you don’t waste any of it. Then, take a pencil, and outline the inside of the circle cutter with the pencil. Now you just need to cut out the circle with a pair of scissors, place the decal in some water, and wait until it starts to flatten out in the water, and the decal should come right off the paper, with a little swipe of your fingers. Now, you just place the decal on the cut circle of clay you have prepared, dab with a paper towel, to get the excess water off of it, and a light scrape with the squeegee to get out all of the air bubbles. That’s all you have to do. Then, when you are done baking your beads, you have a beautiful design on your bead, that would have been impossible to do without it. I think the decals are truly ingenious.

Some of us did go a little rogue from the kit. I had holiday themed clay cutters that I bought, so we made bat designs with glow in the dark clay. One made an Easter themed charm, and my husband made a couple actual skull shaped charms. You can really be so creative with this product.
Overall, I am really impressed with both the product, and the company. They really have done a fantastic job of creating well thought out kits, individual product, incredible instructional videos found on Youtube, and instructions that are easy enough for a complete novice to understand. Thank you Tryazon and Sculpey for such a wonderful experience.

Clever Creations Tryazon’s Tryabox!

The holidays are always so special to me and my family. We always remember we are blessed, every day of the year. Maybe that is why Christmas is just so special to us. We absolutely love decorating, and really look forward to it too. I will be honest, I start to sneak decorations up before Thanksgiving, and normally leave them up to Three Kings Day. Traditions span the religions of our world. One tradition of families celebrating Christmas, is passing on decorations from generation to generation. Clever Creations is a company that sells Nutcrackers. Not just the usual ones that we see everywhere, but all types. Types that can be adored by many.

I was thrilled to be chosen for this Clever Creations Tryabox! I was sent three of their different Nutcrackers, and a trio of their Shatterproof Pickle Ornaments. We used to play the Pickle Game every year. When our family changed, we stopped playing. I am so excited to renew this game. It is so much fun. The three Nutcrackers I was sent are: The Traditional King Nutcracker, The Chubby Italian Nutcracker, and The Lady In Silver Nutcracker.

The Pickle Game revolves around the Pickle Ornament. “The pickle ornament is the last ornament put on the tree. The first-person Christmas morning to find the ornament gets to open the “pickle present”.” The present can be anything that you want it to be. Since Santa always spoils my children, I used to make it cash, like a $10.00 bill. That way, no matter the age of the recipient, the gift would be perfect. I cheated though, because I am a softy. There was also always a consolation prize, too. I love, love, love, that the pickle isn’t glass, like my last one was. Now, I don’t have to worry about it breaking on Christmas morning, and someone hurting themselves. It comes in a three pack too. So, if I want, I can write up the story of the pickle game, and give the extras to a couple friends as a hostess gift, or just as a gift, or to a neighbor, etc. It’s fun giving people presents!

I received the traditional green Pickle Ornaments. They do have them available in other color options as well. Included in the package are some silver threads. You need to attach them to the ornaments yourself. Or, you can attach a hook of your choice. The ornaments measure out at 1.5″ x 1.5″ x 4.5″. I love how they have gold, sparkly spots all over the pickles. I love sparkles! Just make sure your Christmas lights don’t reflect off of them, or that may make it easier to find, lol!

I lucked out and received one of the traditional Nutcrackers: The Traditional King Nutcracker. It is one of the staples, so we are proud to have it in our family now. My King measured out at 12” tall. The top of his crown, brings him to a little over 12”. His Gold Staff is moveable, but does not come out of his grasp. He is made out of wood, and has been decorated in Red, Blue, and Gold tones. I love his traditional mustache, that was painted on. I also think his expression is priceless; so serious, guarding, ruling. His nutcracker action is smooth going. What I love the most about this one, is the little bit of glam, the jewels that adorn his outfit and crown. So perfect for a King.

The next Nutcracker sent to me is from their Chubby Series; The Chubby Italian Nutcracker. Since I have some Italian in me, I really got a kick out of him. He does have some paint smudges on him, but I am used to seeing that with Nutcrackers. The Italian carries a basket of grapes, which actually is moveable too. I think they scraped against his body in packaging. In his other hand, he carries a bottle of wine. The bottle has been marked with the year 2017. I really like that! I can never forget the year I received him, now. Mine measured out at 7” tall; short and stout. He is just too cute, even with the smudges. Honestly, they make him look more authentic. Like he was out there gathering the grapes, and making the wine. I really love him. They even gave him a checkered bandana around his neck. His mouth opens smoothly too, it’s just a little harder to see it, because of the bandana. I am really loving the chubby series. It also makes it easier to group the Nutcrackers together, that way.

Last but not least, is the third Nutcracker I received. I honestly, have never seen anything like her in Nutcrackers before; The Lady In Silver Nutcracker. I mean, WOW. Talk about glam! She radiates sparkle, and I love things that sparkle. She is also made out of wood. Besides being painted, she is adored in an outfit of sequins. She looks so regal, so beautiful. She stands at 14” tall. I love her white fur hat, and the matching fur adorned gown. She is even carrying a sequined purse, and wears a silver necklace. Her long black gloves are painted on, so she can never lose them. They cleverly covered the front of her nutcracker with her flesh colored tape. So, at a quick glance, it is not noticeable from the front, unless you are opening it up. They painted the wood lever on her back, silver, to match the gown. I love how regal, yet sweet, her painted on face is. She looks like royalty.

Clever Creations offers many different styles of Nutcrackers for sale. Overall, I am pretty happy with them. They have a lot of character to them, and are a decoration that is both fun to give and receive. I am most definitely going to look forward to pulling them out of my Christmas boxes every year, and setting them out for all to enjoy. They make me smile. They make my family smile. What more is there to ask for.

Be Holiday Ready with MOT Global’s Christmas Photo Booth Props.

Christmas time is such a fun and festive season. It brings so much joy, laughter, and creates so many wonderful memories. I really think the world is a better place during this time. Photographs are such an integral part of the holidays, too. With all of the new selfie gadgets, photos are really changing. There is a whole new perspective we are getting now. Not everyone can afford to have professional photos done for large parties, and family gatherings. I give props to these Christmas Photo Booth Props from Mot Global. Not only is this an affordable set, but they are cute, fun, and easy to use. In their set you get 52 pieces to spice up your photos with, as well as 4 festive, holiday bookmarks to use. They include the sticks, and double sided sticky tabs to attach the sticks to the props, as well.

It is so easy to attach the bamboo sticks to the props. Carefully peel one sticky dot off of the sheet, and place it onto your prop. Then, take one of the sticks, and place the end onto the sticky dot. The dots really are sticky and hold the sticks perfectly in place. I was very happy and relieved to see how well they worked. The props are made out of card stock. They all have a sheen to them as well. The colors are pretty vivid, and the props are hilarious. There are even props that can be used throughout the year. There are mustache props, pipes, bowties, a present, silly glasses, and even a tongue sticking out. These would all be appropriate for other seasons and occasions. They do, however, sell 3 other different options on their sale page, that are not Christmas themed. Overall, these are really fun, and would be great for simple photos to all out parties. We sure do love them.

Get tricky with it! – Gifts and Gadgets Onlines’ Gift Card Maze by TechTools.

I have seen advertisements for maze boxes over the years, in magazines. I have always been very intrigued by them, but have never pulled the trigger on ordering one. I give gift cards every year as gifts, and they really aren’t any fun to buy. This baby brings the enjoyment up a notch for the buyer, lol. Maybe not so much for the receiver, haha. This maze box from Gifts and Gadgets Online is pretty cool. I love that it’s see through, and made out of pretty durable plastic. This should be reusable as long as no one pries open the door. It measures out at 5 ½” long x 3 3/8^th” wide x just over ½” thick. It works like any other ball maze. You need to move the metal ball through the maze, until it lands over the slide. When the ball is there, you push the slide firmly over, and it pops the door open. The first time I tried it, I gently slid the slide over, and nothing happened. I then pushed the slide firmly over, and the ball moved and the door popped open. It was a Eureka moment, if I may say so myself! This maze comes with a snowman card in the slot. It’s pretty cute. This will fit any regular sized gift card perfectly. It will also fit cold hard cash as well. I am so excited about using this, this holiday season. For once, a gift card will be a lot of fun to give!

Trick or Treat time! – TGS Gems’ Halloween Candy Bags.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I really love everything about it. Trick or treating, of course, is one of my son’s favorite parts. We always look at all of the fun trick or treat bag options. I only got to use a pillowcase when I was little, so I have a lot of fun looking at the bags. This set from TGS Gems is so cute. You get two bags in this set. They are made out of a nice, thick canvas material, so they should last more than one season, depending on how tough your kids are on them, lol. One is the traditional bag style with handles. The handles are made out of a black canvas material, and are long enough so you can carry the bag on your shoulder. The other bag is a drawstring style bag. This can be used to store your trick or treat candy to pass out, or keep away from your kids while you are waiting for the day, lol. You can trick or treat with it, but it’s like carrying a pillowcase all over again, since there are no handles. There is, however, a drawstring, so if you dropped the bag, your candy will not fall out. And that is definitely an upgrade from a pillowcase. You can also use the drawstring bag year from year to dole out a Halloween gift. Some families give their kids little presents for Halloween. Grandma has always done that in our household. The bag with handles has the option to write your child’s name on the bag. At the very bottom of the bag it states: “Bag of Treats Belongs to”, and then there is blank space to write your name in. You can use a Sharpie marker, fabric paint, or fabric markers. This is a great for households with multiple kids. The bags are virtually the same size, and that is a generous size at that. The drawstring bag is 19” long and 14” wide, and the bag with handles is 19 ½” long and 14” wide. You can fit a lot of candy in these bags. Hopefully your kids won’t sneak toilet paper out in these bags, lol. No tricks, just treats with these bags.

My bags arrived in perfect condition. I had no strange odors or imperfections on mine at all. They were perfect and ready to go. My son was thrilled.

Pumpkin lights! – Liberty Imports’ Halloween Pumpkin Lights.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love everything about it, espically the decorations. Nothing is more iconic than the Jackolantern either. These lights are really cute. Even though they are not LED, they have them made to keep working, even when a light goes out. I was able to test this out immediately too. One of my pumpkins would not light up upon arrival. Poor thing stayed dark while all of the other pumpkins slowly blinked along. They include 2 spare bulbs with this set. This is a blinking set. There is no other setting option available. On this set of lights from Liberty Imports, you get 10 pumpkins. The individual lights slide into the top of each pumpkin too. There is only 24” of leader line from the plug to first pumpkin, so you may need to use an extension cord, if you are hanging them up. I needed to use one. The entire set is approx.. 11ft long. Every pumpkin is about 12” apart, and each pumpkin is a pretty good size, at 2 ½” in diameter. They plug into a regular outlet, and can use any extension cord, since they have a 2 prong plug. When I first tested them out, I literally just laid them on the floor near me, and let them run all night. The pumpkins are so large, that they never even get warm to the touch when on. This is great, because little ones are drawn to lights, and will definitely try to touch them. When my youngest was little he was drawn to Jackolanterns because of their faces. He loved everything with faces, lol. Overall this is a fun set of lights. I wish they had an option to stay on fully, but since they blink slowly, they are still comfortable to look at and are enjoyable. Some lights blink so fast, so they can make you dizzy, and hurt your eyes. Fortunately, this set is not like that. The green wiring gives the resemblance of pumpkin vines, so the lights look extra cute to me. With all of the LED lights hitting the market, these almost look old fashioned, lol. I actually shocked myself with that reaction. I love, love, love the look. These are sooooo much cuter than the thin LED pumpkin lights I’ve seen. The wonderful character of a Jackolantern, gets lost that way. These are truly iconic.

Time to get spooky. – YoungKer’s Vbiger Scary Halloween Skeleton.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. It is so much fun, and it’s for all ages. When you think of Halloween, you think of skeletons. My son had to have one last year, and it was a hard plastic. He immediately broke one of the joints, so now it’s a one-armed skeleton, lol. So, I am really liking this one. It is so much more durable, and house friendly. It is soft to the touch, and it is made out of plastic foam, but feels like a thick foam. If you put your face close to it, you can smell it at first. It’s shipped in a cellophane wrapper. It did air out. The smell wasn’t strong enough to make me sick with my insane allergies, so I have no concern over it. All foam has an odor to it. The design looks just like it’s pictured. One of the eyes has a smidgen of red just outside of the eye socket. That might make someone with OCD nuts, lol. A white out pen, or sharpie marker can correct that if it bothered you. It doesn’t bother me at all. Mine measured out at 25 inches long, and 9 inches wide, at the widest point. Fortunately, it has a loop attached to it, so it’s a breeze to hang up. Since it is soft, it won’t scratch up your walls or doors, if your kid plays with it, like mine. So, I am loving that feature. The cord is attached to the top of the head, and is 5 ½” long. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. I love the red color in the eye sockets. It gives it a lot of depth and interest. You can add it to a collage of other spooky decorations, or let it hang alone. You can add flashing lights, or colored LEDs, to make it look spookier. Just be creative and have a lot of fun. It’s an easy going, foam skeleton, enjoy.

Sweet and Stylish. – Tom David Lewis’ 8 Piece Set of Holiday Bracelet Charms & Pin.

My mom loves wearing pins. It’s an accessory she has always loved. I was excited to receive this set to review for her. Since it’s a pin, you don’t have to worry about what metal type it’s made out of, which makes it an easy gift to give. Included in this set is 1 pin, and 7 charms. The pin is the shape of a bow, and in a gold tone. The charms, although highly decorated, are also a gold tone as well. The charms are holiday related and are pretty darn cute. Included in this set is: 1 Santa, 1 Valentine Charm, 1 Easter Charm, 1 Pumpkin Charm, 1 Red. White, & Blue Hat Charm, 1 Turkey Charm, and 1 Mother’s Day/Father’s Day Charm. They are really solid too; not bendy at all! All charms are approximately 1 to 1 ½” long too. They are a good size, I think. Not too big, where they can be gaudy, but not too small, where it will go unnoticed while you are wearing it. The Mother’s Day/Father’s Day pin is so cute. It says I love you so you can wear it anytime. The Mom and dad are labeled Mom and Dad though, in case that does not fit your family. You could still use the other charms though. The charms are really easy to put onto the pin. The pin has a spring clasp dangling from the middle of it. Just open the spring clasp and put your charm on it. That’s it; so easy. Just make sure you are facing the charm the right way, lol. I keep putting them on backwards the first time. The clasp on the pin is very tight and secure. Don’t over bend it though, or you’ll break it. It’s going to pin onto thinner material the best, since the backing of the pin is small. Overall, it’s a solid set. You really can’t beat it for the price. My mom is very excited about it. She wore the 4th of July pin this whole holiday weekend.

An easy way to decorate your cake!. – DecoPac, Iron Man 2, Cake Decorating Kit, Includes Topper and Ring.

I think everyone in my house likes Iron Man. He is pretty darn amazing. I love quick and simple, when it comes to cake decorating, because I am normally the one doing everything from scratch, when it comes to the cooking and baking. This cake topper really stands out too. It is literally only 2 pieces to place on the cake, and that is perfect. It is such a great piece, thst it really makes an impact without too much flare. The ring is about 1 ½” long. It has the opening on it to expand, but was definitely made to fit a child’s finger. The face itself looks great on the cake. I am honestly surprised at how well made the child’s ring it. It’s quite sturdy, and should last more than a day with my son, lol. The cake topper is definitely the main attraction in this duo. It is a tiered piece, and is approx.. 6 ½” in diameter. The tier is about ½” in depth. The effect is great though, and the colors are really vivid. The topper is made out of a thick clear plastic, and the decoration is encased in it. I like how they did that. It has the nice shiny appeal to it this way. It is also so easy to clean this way too, which is really important. It’s made so well, that it can be reused. That is one of my favorite characteristics about it, as a parent. I hate all of the wasteful stuff that accompanies a birthday party. I can see this being reused for other birthday parties, a Halloween cake, movie night cake decoration, and even as a bedroom door decoration or playroom decoration. Just put some double sided sticky tape on it, and hang it right on up; perfect! That’s what we are going to do after a couple of cakes, anyhow. It’s a licensed product, so the image is a nice one. You can normally tell when unlicensed images are used. This one is perfect.

American Pride! – Prextex Patriotic 4th of July Party Set Deluxe and Decorations Party Combo.

We love our Country and think these are great sets to use any time of the year. They are definitely perfect for our National Holidays like Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, Armed Forces Day, Presidents Birthday, and more. My youngest’s birthday falls on Memorial Day weekend, so they make perfect decorations for both. I love how festive and patriotic our home looks. In the Party Set you get 8 large plates, 8 small plates, 8 cups, 1 tablecloth, napkins, cupcake holders with American Flag picks, and 6 patriotic tattoos. In the Decorations combo pack you get 1 banner, 1 bunting, 3 swirl hanging decorations, and 6 tattoos. The bunting is 12’ long and the banner is 24’ long. They are both a plastic material and are weatherproof. The ties on them are short though. You will need to add some ties to it, to really be able to secure it outside. My husband used Paracord. I love these two sets together. It really ties everything together. The large plates are actually large too. You can fit a real meal on them. They are 12” long and 10” wide. They are not thick, heavy duty plates though, so you will want to watch the weight of the food, if your guests have to carry them around. If you are having people sit at a table with their food, then no issues. The smaller ones are 9” round and are perfect for desserts or appetizers. My son has been eating cookies and his bday cake off of them. He loves the red, white, and blue theme. The little flags are so cute too. I did not decorate cupcakes with them. I integrated them into his cake decorations, for his birthday. You don’t not have to use the cupcake holders only for cupcakes. You can make muffins, and use them for snacks, like M&M’s. You can line little glass bowls with them, and then serve yummy chocolate snakes in them, or candies too. What a cute look that would be. These sets really are nice. I live on the coast, and my outdoor decorations have to put up with high wind, and even rain. They are still standing strong, and look great. I can’t recommend these sets enough.
