This Halloween marks GhostBed’s 3rd year Anniversary. So, first off, let me say, Happy Anniversary! I absolutely love the name of this company. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays after all.
I was sent their King sized Ghostbed mattress protector. This protector will be great on almost any mattress, but it’s ideal to pair it with any GhostBed mattress. I personally own a newer Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress, so that is what I used to test out this mattress protector. I have asthma and insane allergies, and suffer from frequent anaphylactic reactions. The mattress protector I purchased when I bought my mattress was nothing like the description, when I ordered it online. It’s thin, a little noisy, and slides on my oversized mattress. It’s pretty annoying. I have to keep a clean bed, clean room, or I have trouble breathing, sleeping, and my skin will, itch, itch, itch. I am highly allergic to dust, and dust mites. Both hazards in a bedroom due to all the fabric involved in that room. That is why I must always use a mattress protector.
This GhostBed mattress protector arrived quickly in the mail, even with its’ free shipping. I received it in a few days. When it arrived, it arrived nicely packaged, and with a card explaining about the product, proper care and installation, and what the minimal warranty covers.

When I first opened the mattress protector, what I did NOT notice, was wonderful for me and my allergies. I did not detect any chemical smell. I have literally had many anaphylactic reactions opening mattress protectors, clothing, pillows, and more, from products. They use so many poisonous chemicals to “size” materials and treat foam, nowadays. Chemicals like Formaldehyde, lead, mercury…. When I went mattress shopping and couch shopping, I actually brought a formaldehyde reader with me. The results were terrifying. So, I was able to open this product up, pull it out of the package, wave it around to open it, and place it directly on my bed without even a sniffle. My respiratory system is quite happy with this Ghostbed Mattress Protector!

My mattress is around 22” thick. It is a beast, and I love it. However, I do have issues finding sheets, etc.. for it, lol. I am quite happy to announce that this protector fits beautifully on it. The protector has a soft outer covering on the top, a more sheet like material on the sides, and an enormous and wonderful 2” wide elastic band on it. This protector not only fits my bed, but WOW, holds it in place perfectly. It passed the jump, wiggle and squirm test by my big and adorable 11-year-old son, lol. I am 5’3” with big hair, and I have to lean and pull, etc.. to put the sheets on my bed. It didn’t even slide while I was doing that! This really is fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough.
As I have been sleeping on this mattress protector, I have not even noticed the protector. That right there is a blessing. It has not smelled, or bothered my allergies. I have not been awoken with my asthma and allergies, due to this protector. It has cut that insane dust smell I always get. My dust allergy is off of the charts, I have been told.

I have not awoken to bunched up sheets, due to the mattress protector sliding on our bed. In the morning the sheets are still on the bed, not pulled up on the corners, as they had been daily with my prior mattress protector. It does not slide, finally a mattress protector that does not slide, lol! The Ghost Grip elastic band really does its’ job.

We have not woken up sweaty or itchy; no skin irritations at all. This protector keeps our skin cool and dry. Overall, it has been doing its’ job perfectly. I am in love with this product, no lie!
The quality is fantastic. Mine is so well made. There was not a snag, or a tiny thread to trim off upon arrival. It is easy to wash. I have a front loader washing machine, so no agitator. It fits well. I wash on eco-cool, which is no extra electricity cooled water, lol. Do not add bleach or a bleach alternative to the wash with this mattress protector. Then it states to hang dry, or tumble dry on low heat air. Do not place it in the dryer alone, though. Place other linens or towels with it. This will help it from twisting itself up tightly, on itself. If you have a shower with a shower rod, just hang it over that. It fits perfectly. The company also states to not use strong detergents and fabric softeners on it. They can destroy the water proof barrier. Overall, I have nothing but positive to state about this product. I truly love it. I have never spent this much on a protector, and now I wouldn’t blink an eye. I have wasted money on many protectors in my past, that haven’t lived up to their promise, in the least. Pennies are hard earned, and this gal hates wasting money! Both the Mud Therapy and their Relief Cream were tested by my mother, since they have some nut based products in them. I am allergic to nuts. I personally tested out the Facial Cleaner. I do love how these products have no Parabans and Phthalates in them. I am very picky on what I will put on my body, and my families’. 

The cleaner is a light, and fresh cleanser to use. It was not heavily scented with chemicals, which I like. Instead, it has its’ own clean scent, almost minty. It is refreshing, and comfortable to use.  It left my face feeling clean. I had no tight and over dry reaction to it, afterwards, either. My skin remained nice and soft. It was made to have a balanced ph value, and you can tell, with how your skin reacts to it. It is a 4oz bottle, and a little goes a long way. I like to put a little on a silicone scrubby, and clean and massage my face at the same time. Talk about stress relieving. I suffer from serious allergies, and have constant reactions. Next, we have their Dead Sea Mud Therapy. I remember, as a child, watching my mom do her mud masks to her face. She would tell me how it was good for the skin. I, myself, have done mud masks, and loves them. So, I was happy to give this to my mom to try. It is also full of incredible ingredients, that are nourishing and detoxing, to the skin. I make a lot of my own products, and use a lot of the ingredients they use. For example, this product has Hemp Oil, Manuka Honey, and Aloe in it. Those alone are so fantastic to the skin. It also has Shea butter in it. Another product great for your skin. These products, if you look them up separately on line, are found to have nourishing, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties to the skin. So, they make sense to be in facial products. This is the full ingredient list:

I like that they even have Non-GMO products in it. The scent is a natural scent. It has no overpowering odor, one way or the other. With this, you just need to place it on clean skin, let it sit for 20 minutes, and set in, and then gently rub it off, with water, using a circular motion. This will help to increase the circulation to your skin as well. It really is a healthy product to add to your routine. It is rich with vitamins and minerals. A vitamin for your skin, lol. Skincare is an everyday battle. It begins as soon as we are born, and last until we die. You would think that as you age, it would get easier, but it doesn’t. I suffer from allergies so severe, that I have frequent anaphylaxis. My skin suffers from all of the reactions I have. Be it from regular reactive breakouts to skin infections, I am always maintaining something. Being able to exfoliate your skin is really the only way to really clean down to your pores. When I shower I use a battery operated facial scrubber, and boy does it clean. Unfortunately, it can be messy, and I am blessed only with small counter space in my bathroom. So, I do not use it at my sink. This 2 Pc Silicone Facial Scrubber Cleansing Pad Set by TOSHENG, is my answer. I can actually use these at the sink, and not make a big mess at all. There are two separate brushes in the set. They are made out of 100% Food Grade Silicone, and are very soft to the touch. These are soft enough to use on a babies scalp, to help ensure they do not get cradle cap. So, you can guarantee, that they will be gentle enough for your face.

Silicone does not naturally harbor bacteria or mold. It is very easy to keep clean. You can even soak it in vinegar for 24 hours to sterilize it, if you had a skin infection. I used to sterilize medical equipment that way as a home nurse. On the back of each brush is a suction cup. I love that feature. You can attach it to your mirror, or the shower wall, or even both, since there are 2 in a pack. That helps them drain and dry quickly, and keeps them both out of the way, and handy for use. They measure out at 3 ¾” tall and just over 2 ½” wide at the widest part. These are my personal measurements. They are very easy to handle due to their size and flexibility of material. On each scrubber, they have 3 different bristle lengths. This helps to ensure being able to really get into your pores, and really clean your skin. I’m an all-natural kind of girl, so I use my handmade soap, or just a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. That really cleans out the pores, combined with this facial scrubber. When you clean in a circular motion you are also helping to increase the circulation to your skin, which is another health benefit. It is a massage for your face, besides cleaning out your pores, and exfoliating your skin.

I do have a history of being a nurse, so after a lot of research, I chose a few products. Emu oil was one of them. Wow, it is really healing to the skin. This product is wonderful. It is all 100% pure and organic. Since I have started using Emu oil, as well as a couple others (I rotate), I have not had anything close to the horror I was enduring before them. Emu oil is full of Omega 3 & Omega 6 Fatty Acids, and linoleic acid and oleic acid, that do nothing but heal the skin. It is an anti-inflammatory agent as well. It is perfect on your lips and skin. It has a creamy, and oily texture to it. Even though its’ an oil product, it does not leave an oily residue on your skin. Your skin absorbs it so fast. It has a very faint natural scent to it, but it’s so faint, you do not even notice it on your face and lips. It has a wonderful soft feeling to it. It will not make you break out. In the contrary to a lot of peoples’ beliefs, all oils are not acne causing, lol. They actually do the opposite. They increase the health of your skin. It will not clog your pores either. You can use this on all skin, and skin conditions. I just used this on my sons’ leg. He reacts horribly o common bug bites. Something attacked his leg, and he had huge, hard welts all over it.

They had a lot of heat in them, and I was afraid they were going to go into a skin infection. It has happened to him before. The emu oil helped him tremendously. It took the heat away, and the bites started to soften up, and heal. They were no longer a glowing red color on his fair skin. Since it is a soft creamy oil, it did not sting his bites at all. I am a true Emu Oil believer and user, and I really like this organic Emu Oil from Leven Rose.

I love chocolate. But, since I have developed insane food allergies, as well as allergies to additives, and preservatives, it’s hard for me to buy it. The same goes for cocoa powder. I love this product for several reasons: Non GMO, Organic, and Incredible flavor. I received the smallest of the sizes available: 4oz. But, they also have it available in an 8oz package, as well as a 12oz package. I like being able to get a smaller batch of a new product. I hate wasting food, if I do not like it, or if it tuens out I cannot tolerate it. I love companies who are proud to say they use Non GMO ingredients. These is 100% natural, and organic. I have used dehumidifiers on and off, but rarely do a use a plain humidifier. They are good to have though when the air gets too dry. Though, when I thought about it, I actually use a humidifier all of the time, lol. I use essential oil diffusers, and they place humidity (water) into the air along with essential oils. This humidifier from Ivation is an electronic humidifier, and you can actually choose between heated and non-heated. I used essential oils in this unit when on the non-heated setting. I really enjoy using my essential oil diffusers too. I think it’s so funny that I never tied the two things together. This one unit is working flawlessly. It is so quiet on; you may forget that it is even on. If it wasn’t for the viewable mist and digital screen that is. The screen is very clear, and easy to spot and read. If not using this tabletop, you do have to either lift it up to set it up, or get down on the floor with the it. The screen is on the bottom of the unit. A remote would have been the perfect touch for people who are physically challenged. If you cycle through the settings, you can choose sleep, turbo, Auto, and the Normal. It automatically turns on the heat in each mode, so wait a sec and then hit the heat symbol, and that will turn off the heat. It’s so easy to fill. The top lifts right off, nothing to undo. Then yhe water tank has a large handle. Just lift it up and bring it over to the sink. The cap is large, and easy to grasp, to open it. The sleep mode sets for 8 hours, then shuts off. This unit has auto shut off too, when the water runs out. Turbo and Auto Modes have no timer built into them. Normal does not either, but you can set your own humidity level and timer. I prefer to and pretty much only use the normal mode. The instruction booklet is really clear to read and understand. I wish the ink had been printed darker though. It was done in a really light ink color. You can set the timer from anywhere from 1 – 8 hours. Press the settings button twice, and then use the +/- signs to set your time. On the bottom back of the unit is an aroma compartment. It’s a teeny tray that pulls out and has a thick felt pad in it. You can place essential oils on this pad as you wish. I didn’t get that much from that compartment, and snuck my oils into the water, lol, on the cool mist only. You need to remember to dump out all of the water daily, so no mold or mildew builds. If you aren’t refilling it, dump it out, and let the container air dry before closing it up. The booklet tells you how to clean It thoroughly too. It’s a very stable unit and don’t have to worry about it being easily tipped over. Overall, I am very happy with how it functions. I like the large tank, for all day use. You can direct the stream of humidity since the nozzle can easily be positioned. I am really happy with this unit.

I am a fan of salt rock lamps. My mom has had one for years. It’s something that is not only beautiful to have in home, but is also beneficial for you. The ways that it can be beneficial to you are also personal. Or example, I find the light very soothing and relaxing, where others may not even care about it. Sometimes things that are very beneficial to your wellbeing are more of a personal choice.  I received this salt lamp from Skullis in their smaller size. This lamp can range anywhere from 3 – 4.5lbs in size. They do also offer it in a larger size, 6-11lbs. What I really appreciate, is that when my light arrived, they had also included 3 bulbs with it. It only uses 1 bulb, but now I have two for back up. The bulbs are 15 watt bulbs. I want to see if I can find a LED alternative. Since they packed it so well, all three bulbs worked upon arrival as well. In matter of fact, the entire lamp was wrapped really well. I had to use scissors to cut off the saran wrap type wrapping protecting the salt lamp itself. This unit uses a traditional house plug. It is American 2 prong plug as well. The salt lamp is a natural Himalayan salt lamp. The color when the lamp isn’t on is a darker orange/pink. Salmon may be the more correct way to call the color. Since it is a natural product, the color may vary. When the lamp is on, the entire salt lamp glows a brighter hue. It is so gorgeous on. You can determine the brightness level too. There is a dimmer on the cord approx.. ¼ of the way down the cord. Now, the salt rock is separate from the lamp base. Screw on the light bulb, and plug in the base. Then, carefully rest the salt rock on top of the light bulb. There is obviously a hole cut out of the center, bottom of the salt rock to accommodate the bulb. For all of you thinking, what the heck does this lamp do, this is from the ad page directly: “Natural Himalayan salt lamp will absorb moisture from the air, and then evaporated to release negative ions. It can play a role in purifying the air, called natural ionic air purifiers”. I obviously can’t measure what’s going on in the air when I use it, but Even my mom enjoys having one in her home, and she hates using electricity if she doesn’t have to, lol. They make a great accent light/night light as well. They are truly relaxing to have on in the evening. The warm glow is gorgeous, and knowing it helps your air makes it extra soothing, mentally. It does help the ambiance for the room for a romantic evening as well. After being on for hours, the light does not get hot to the touch. You can gran it with your palm fully embracing it, and it is only slightly warm to the touch. That is a great thing when you have pets and children in the home. You can feel safe with this on. Now, from past experience, my mom states that if you open your windows a lot, the humidity can eat at the salt block of the light. So, you might want to place it in a more non humid environment. We normally have the air conditioner on, but her air went out a few years ago, and experienced this with her Rock Salt Lamp, then. I absolutely love my Himalayan Salt Lamp. It’s a great addition to our home.

Exercise is a challenge for me lately. I suffer from very frequent anaphylactic reactions, and it really takes a toll on me. Especially, since on top of that, I have asthma. I also always have my now 9 year old with me, since I home school. This band from Ovinm, is actually pretty handy. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was offered to review it, but I really like this particular one. I have received some in the past, and they ended up not being very useful to me. I really like the resistance on this one. It’s one that I can feel but still do, and my 9 year old can use it as well. So, I am a happy camper. Quality wise, it’s top notch. It’s thick and highly durable. They sell these resistant bands in different strengths: “ Red – 10 to 35 lbs; Black – 20 to 60 lbs; Purple – 35 to 85 lbs; Green – 50 to 125 lbs.” I received the purple one to test. It is thick, and very durable. It’s pretty long too. I can put my feet on it, and pull up on it, bringing the band up to my chest. You can really feel it across your chest and upper arms this way. There are many other exercises to do as well. Fin what suits you best. These are great to be used in resistance training, crossfit, and even Physical and Occupational Therapy. I also like how easy it is to store. It comes with a couple bands to keep it tightly rolled up, making it easy to shove it in a drawer or gym bag. If you get is dirty and or sweaty, it washes off really easily too. It is made out of a natural latex material. Mine arrived with no odor to it at all. To increase the resistance factor, just double it up. The difference is pretty large, lol. It measures approx.. 40 1/2” in length. Granted that’s folded in half, and it kept wiggling on me, lol. So, if you cut it open, it would be over 81” long. I hope that gives you a good feeling for the size of this band. Width wise is 0.9” and it is 4.5m thick. This is not cracking or snapping on you, unless you do it on purpose, lol. The tensile strength on this purple band is 20-60lbs. It actually really allows you to get some good exercise in to your daily routine. It’s pretty comfortable to use, and no skill level is required. I also like that I can take it on the road with me when I travel. Surprisingly to me, I really like this resistance band from Ovinm.
