Such a fun kite! – KickFire Kadavu’s Premium Blue Delta Kite.

My youngest is 8 years old, and has never flown a kite until now. He was so excited. I have two older kids, and have used my share of kites in the past. With all that said, I am really happy with this kite. KickFire’s Kadavu kite is so nice, and easy to set up. This kite only has one fiberglass pole to insert, and the string to attach, then you are up and flying. They include a 100ft of kite string on this bad boy too. This kite is made out of Rip Stop Nylon. All of the stitching was done well. The yellow pieces of Nylon that come off the wings, are not stitched though, and start to fray a little upon flying. This is not an uncommon feature at all, from my experience. This kite measures out at10ft long from tip to tail, and the wing span is just under 6ft, including the streamers. It does come with a storage bag as well. I can tell you that once you fly the kite, it’s a little hard to slide the kite back in. I wish the storage bag was a couple inches wider. It’s doable though, but just doable. This kite was made to cut through the sky. Lol, we aren’t that skilled yet, since we don’t fly kites often. I haven’t flown one in years, so we are back to the beginner level status. It does work great in the sky though. My 8 year old was able to fly it himself and he’s ecstatic by it. We live close to the beach, and get a lot of wind. So, this has opened up a whole new healthy outside activity for him. The bright colors of this kite make it highly visible, even when the sun is shining in your eyes. It truly is a fun kite to fly.

What a blast. – Prextex’s Fishing Game- Deluxe Fishing Game with Lights and Sound.

I remember playing the original fishing game with my 2 older children. Now, with my 3rd, who is only 8, I get to play it again, but with the newer, updated version. We love this game. It’s a lot of fun. The new twist to the game is 2 levels. Not only is this a 2 level game, but the fish are different styles, and catching them is different as well. There are 5 fishing poles and baskets to this game. So, a large family can play together. Each fishing pole has a magnet on the end of it, but only the small fish have magnets in them. The larger fish are actually trickier to catch. They have larger mouths, obviously, and so, they have teeth. The trick is to catch the string between their teeth to catch them. That is a challenge, lol. When everyone is going after a fish, your magnets end up catching on the magnets of your opponents’ fishing pole, lol. It is really funny too. Both levels spin, and the fish go around and around. As they do their mouths open and close. On the walls of the second level, you get an aquarium affect, which is really pretty to watch actually. This game does play music while you are playing. There are several different songs that play. You cannot adjust the volume, or play without the music. This did not bother us at all. You get used to it fast, and forget that it’s playing. After all, you are too busy laughing and chasing fish. This game by Prextex needs three AAs to operate. You need to supply the batteries, and you will also need a smaller Phillips Head screwdriver to access the battery compartment. We are really having fun with this game. We can all play it together. Age really doesn’t matter. Obviously, it’s not toddler friendly with the little pieces. But for school aged children on up, it’s a blast.

These make decorating so easy. – Twisty’s Tie-Free Balloon Kit.

My son is a balloon nut. They are fun to do, but I am not a fan of popping them when they are done, or waiting for them to be popped, lol. I have a past history as a nurse, and the popping always provides a possible choking hazard. This doesn’t remove the popping altogether, but it is a much easier way to keep them blown up, and reuse them as needed. This kit arrives with 20 – 7” Latex balloons and 20 twisty ties. To use these, the included directions are easy to follow. They also have directions on their ad page as well. Take the end of the balloon, push it through the center hole of the twisty tie. Now blow it up, and snake the end of the balloon through one side, and then around through the slit opening on the other side of the twisty tie. It really holds the air in too. The double loop helps keep it intact, and if it gets knocked out of one side, the air won’t immediately start to escape. There is a little fold up hanger in the center of the tie. You can hang them on a string this way, which makes decorating really easy to do. I love the fact the balloons are twisty ties are reusable. I had gone to getting the more expensive Mylar balloons because of the popping issue. Now I can use a combination of balloons, which will make festive occasions more enjoyable. This will also cut down on trash, which makes it an eco-friendlier option in regards to decorating for parties. Otherwise, there is always so much decoration trash alone. If you are setting up off site, and don’t want a car full of pre-made balloons, this will also be a fantastic option for you. These are a must have, and I am a new fan!

So cute and comfortable on. – Beauty Nymph’s Cartoon Socks.

Fun socks are way better than boring plain socks. That’s what we think in our home, anyhow. These socks qualify as fun socks. They are made quite well also. My son is wearing these socks. They have them available in both brown and grey, but we received the dual pair in grey for both. We already owned a pair in brown. My son has been wearing those for close to a year now, and they are still in pretty good shape. He isn’t rough on his socks, yet. My son wears a sz. 4 children’s shoe, and is 8, almost 9, years old. The large fit him well. These socks are available in three different sizes: Ages 1 – 3, sz. Small, Ages 4 – 6, sz Medium, and Ages 7 – 10, sz. Large. They are made quite well. The stitching for both my pairs was done tight and on point. There was no odor to them as well. My son has an almost wide foot, with a high instep, and they fit him well. The sz large fits me as well. I wear a woman’s sz 7 ½. They are pretty stretchy. These socks are made out of 75% Cotton, 22% Nylon, and 3% Spandex. These materials are so much healthier for your skin than the polyester and acrylic being put into socks nowadays. Quality wise these are top notch. Aesthetically, they are cute, and fun to look at. I personally think they are great for young boys and girls. Especially since the colors they come in are grey and brown.

Attack lizard, lol. – iLoonger’s DIY Lizard Plastic Infrared Self-Assembly.

This toy is soooooooo much fun, it really is. Building it was a slight challenge, but well worth the effort. It’s a great brain boosting experience, lol. This toy is rated ages 10 and up. If your child has great motor skills, then they might be able to build it, with some occasional guidance. Besides motor skills, patience is what is needed with an assembly that this one requires. The directions are overall pretty clear to follow. We did not build it all at once. We dedicated some quite evening time to the toy. I had one plastic piece bend on removal from the sheet. This made it slightly difficult to assemble it. Over the next couple of days, I slowly worked it, and was able to finally snap it into place correctly, so the build could continue. The main portion of a kit like this, is building the gears. This makes it a very educational toy. I was just fascinated by it. The directions are not completely correct though when it comes to one component. There is one piece that they want you to assemble, and state you may need a small hammer. Do not search for these pieces. It arrives already assembled for you. This assembly does require cutting off the small plastic ends off of the pieces that stay connected after unsnapping it from the sheet. All of the main pieces are plastic and attached to a plastic sheet. You need to look closely, and you will see a letter stamped on each sheet: A, B and C. Then each piece has a number associated with it; for example, B5. Just like in the game Battleship, lol. You will need to supply your own AAA batteries. This toy requires 4. I can’t believe how well the lizard works, and how fast this thing can go. It is quite entertaining. It is an infrared toy, and responds to your movements in front of its face.

This lizard has two modes. In the first mode this lizard runs around like a mad man. If something gets in its way. It flares its frill and tries to escape. They call it the escape mode. In the second mode, which is the approach mode, it will come to you, and when you place your hand or foot in front of it again, it spreads it frill at you and the eyes glow red. The eyes are green when it is approaching. We are all loving this toy. My 8-year-old is absolutely fascinated with this toy. It is so interactive, which makes it so fun. So even when the build is over, it keeps entertaining. There is a switch on the back of it to change the mode. This toy is very easy to operate after the build. This has definitely been an experience, and a product I feel comfortable recommending.

Summer is almost here. – Norty’s Wave Childrens Kids Aqua Socks.

Summertime is coming, and my son is getting excited about the beach. He was so looking forward to these shoes. Unfortunately, they did not fit. I had a very pouty boy on my hands. He wears a sz. 4 shoe, and has room in them, but these are definitely smaller! So unfortunate. I like how these water shoes have the toe areas slightly molded into them. It makes for a more natural footing. Inside, if you feel into the tow area, it feels smooth, but the toe area is wide for a natural foot, instead of pushing the toes together like most shoes. They do have a couple styles and many colors available to suit toddlers up to a child’s sz4 shoe. These have the usual black rubber sole, for great footing. They upper is a combination of mesh and Neoprene. The stitching was done alright. It’s not the best, but definitely serves its function. The Velcro piece is approx.. 1 ¾” long and ¾”s of an inch wide, at the widest point. I wish this was a tad larger. These also run a little narrow, so if you have to pull this across the top of the foot, it may not hold. I like how the rubber of the sole, curls up over the tips of the toes. It really helps to protect their little tippies from rocks. Neoprene is a highly durable material, and dries quickly. That’s why it’s the material of choice for water shoes. There is a little loop on the back of the shoe. My son really likes the style of the shoe, and is upset they do not fit. I recommend ordering a size up, and you should be happy with them.

Beach Time. – Kids To Discover’s Beach Toy Set in Reusable Zippered Bag with Mesh Bag.

It’s almost beach time here in NC, so excited. We live by the coast, and beach toys are a Spring thing. We all start gathering up our summer essentials. I even know a lot of adults that like to have a shovel and a sifter to look for shark teeth with. That would include myself. I love, love, love that this Kids TO Discover set comes with a mesh storage bag. It makes getting those toys to and from the beach, so much easier. My son is not a massive helper when it comes to these things. Give him a bag like this though, and all of a sudden, he can manage it. This set arrives in a clear, vinyl storage bag, and the mesh bag is stored inside of it with the toys. The toys that arrive with this set are: 2 Sand Castle Molds (7″x5″) and (6″x5″), 6 sand molds (alligator, crocodile, turtle, bunny, dinosaur, castle wall), 1 sand sifter, 1 watering can, 1 rake and 1 shovel. The larger sand castle mold is the bucket with handle. My items were different colors from the pictures posted on the ad page, so know that you will get a random color selection. All of my items were yellow, red, green, blue and orange. The sifter is really a lid attachment for the main bucket. It doesn’t snap on, but fits on well. If you want to rinse off your seashells, you can hold the hold the lid on the bucket while tipping the bucket upside down. You can sift a lot of sand through this lid. It also has 2 holes it in, so it’s not just a sifter. It’s definitely a different set up than a lot of beach toys like this. Otherwise it has a lot of similarities. The items are made out of plastic. The shovel and rake are larger than most. Adults can comfortably hold the handles. These are sand quality items, not for digging in dirt and rocks. This is a fun set, and we can’t wait for it to stay warm, lol. Two days ago it was in the 80’s and today it’s in the 50’s and raining. Come on Summer time fun!

Yea! Emoji Cups from Kangaroo’s Emoji Universe: Emoji Tumblers.

Emojis are everywhere. It’s either time to run, or enjoy the craze. My guys are enjoying the craze. Even my 70 year old mother thinks they are fun. If you think about it, they are the updated version of the Happy Face icon. They are very cheery, indeed. You get 2 fun cups in this set from kangaroo. They are both 16oz cups. The straw is removable, but they won’t just fall out. They have a rim which prevents it from falling out. You have to pull them out after the lid is removed. These cups are acrylic plastic, and they are BPA free. That is always a great thing. Quality wise, these are very similar to a lot of cups, but with the new emoji theme. They are both different, so there will be no drink mix ups. One is a mixture of all things emoji, and the other is a more simplified form, not so busy. My lids screw on perfectly. The threading was well done. I hate when you get a cup, and you can never really get the top to go on straight. I throw those right away, lol. I have been hand washing these, and will continue to do so. It’s my experience with cups like this, that they maintain their looks better this way. Something about the heat of the dishwasher, causes lines and cracks in the finish, over time. I have not tested these in the dishwasher, I have just been hand washing. I have no troubles whatsoever with these. They just smile at you while you are enjoying your drink. My 8 year old thinks these are so happy and fun. It’s nice when you can bring enjoyment to your kids in such a simple way.

A parent’s dream. -Kriss Imports’ BLOKPOD The Modern 2 in 1 Toy Box and Storage Solution.

My son loves Lego’s, but then, don’t most kids. I even love building the kits. The one downside to Legos is sorting, and storing all of the pieces. This container is amazing. It is so large, and see thru. You can see everything you need. And the container sorts them down by size; so awesome! This Blokpod should have come into my life years ago, lol. It is such a great size at 17 ¼ inches tall, and 10 inches in diameter. You get three rows of very durable, plastic containers, divided by a mesh barrier. The mesh barrier’s holes’ decrease in size on the way down to the bottom layer/ Now. They are all hooked up together but can be opened by a twist and pull movement. At first, they can be difficult to do. I had trouble removing the lid upon arrival. After you do it a few times, it gets easier. The top of the container has two large hand holes in it, which makes it easy to grab and hold. The mesh layers are also different colors. Red has the largest holes, yellow the second largest, and the blue has the smallest holes in it. They state that this container is compatible with: “LEGO, Mega Bloks, K’Nex, Rokenbok, Best-Lock”. I do not have all of those, but I have Legos and Megablocks, as well as some generic blocks. They are working well with my awesome Blokpod. This is really a great way to get a lot of storage space in a singular unit. They even offer a 15 year warranty on the parts of this product. That actually blows my mind.

My son is a wiggler. He sends everything flying, and he is 8, lol. I really like this plate. It stays put. Yes, if they wanted to, they could still send it to the floor, but it would be on purpose with this plate. The size of this silicone plate is amazing. Even my 21 year old likes it, lol. He still likes some foods divided, and this plate has the two circular smaller sections, as well as the large main compartment. You can even serve yourself chips and dip with this thing. You can be watching your shows and not have to worry about knocking the bowl over, or off the coffee table, because you were too into your game. I know a lot of people like this. Since it is silicone, it stays put, like it suctioned to your table. This plate is thick, and very durable. I was quite impressed with its stature upon arrival. My plate measures out at 14 ¾” long and 10 inches wide. The cups are just under 1 inch deep. It is made out of food-grade silicone that’s free of BPA, PVC, lead and phthalates. You can throw this in the dishwasher and microwave, if it will fit. Silicone can even handle the freezer, in case you wanted to use it as a chocolate mold, etc.. We are really happy with this plate. You can travel with it since it’s so flexible and durable. It cleans up so easily as well. It really is worth every penny, we just love it.
