These are spoontacular! – Hiware’s 12-piece 18/10 Stainless Steel Teaspoon

In my home, small forks and spoons seem to disappear all by themselves, lol. I swear, when my boys were younger, when they threw out the trash from their plates, they threw out their cutlery as well. Also, now that one son is older, but lives at home, and my husband, both work on the road. They bring a lot of food with them. Sometimes, the cutlery takes their sweet time coming back home, lol. I never need additional tableware sets, but it’s nice to have extra spoons and forks.

I especially need extra spoons. Since I have such a unique diet, because of my insane food allergies, I use spoons a lot. I eat a lot of organic Greek yogurt, and you need a spoon to do so. So, I hate seeing a shortage in my drawer when I go to get one. It is so annoying.

That, and when you have company over, you always need extra spoons. When coffee is served, and when dessert is served, you give them a spoon. So, when I saw this set of 12 teaspoons, I was thrilled. I am so glad they arrived as nice as they looked online. I hate when you think something is going to be a nice quality, and it arrives as a piece of junk. Money does not grow on trees, and I hate feeling like I was ripped off. These spoons are a little larger than the teaspoons I have now, but not as large as our regular spoons but they are close. I like that they are this size; it makes them highly usable across the board. They are constructed out of 18/10 Stainless steel. They didn’t skimp on materials, either. For me, they are not bendy, but for a man on a mission, I’m sure he could bend the spoons in half, lol. Regular usage, not bendy, and that’s the important part. The look is minimalist. There is beauty in simplicity, and it works for these spoons. It also lets them be used with your regular tableware set. I would not feel funny at all about serving a coffee with one of these spoons, while they had used my regular set with their dinner. These spoons measure out at 6 ¾”, so a very good size. Overall, I am thrilled with these spoons. They are definitely the answer to my spoon problem. Their quality is wonderful, and I have no complaints.

Time to be fancy. – GC Quill Writing Calligraphy Pen Set Writing Case 100% Handcrafted.

Calligraphy is such a beautiful art form. There is something so elegant about a piece written in calligraphy. Some people have such an amazing talent for it. From scriptures to gift tags, it is always so beautiful to look at. I am so excited about this set. I had a simple one, years ago when I was very young. This set is absolutely perfect for anyone getting into calligraphy. It has everything needed to get started. In this set you get: 5 different inks to choose from, 1 ink bottle stand with ink holder, 6 nibs (writing tips), and 1 calligraphy pen. Since this set was hand crafted, and made alongside the companies that make professional pens, you can rest assured this pen will work the way it should. You just need to provide paper, and an eagerness to learn. After a quick search online, I found so many free templates to begin your calligraphy lessons with. So, you do not have to wing it, no worries. The pen is well balanced, and the different tips are nice and smooth to work with. If you are new, like me, to this, make sure you are in an area, where no one will knock your bottle of ink over. I knocked my well over, lol. It’s a new experience to get used too.

The ink included is pretty nice to deal with as well. It does not have a pungent odor to it all. I have asthma and allergies, and it doesn’t bother me one bit. No animal products were used in these inks. They are “non-toxic soluble dyes and pigments suspended in acrylic shellac”. This tips are supposed to last awhile. They are made out of stainless steel and are “tipped with iridium alloy”, to keep rolling smoothly for years. The handcrafted pen is so pretty, and made out of a pretty Birch wood. I am new to this set, but I am believing the hype. It is easy to hold and use. It’s a fun experience. This pen is nicer than the one I had many years ago, and that does make a difference. I love having the different heads to really be able to try the different styles with, as well as the different ink colors. It’s the perfect beginners’ for me, and I think it would make a great gift.

A Fall beauty. -Ivku Commercials’ Women Plaid Blanket Scarf.

Fall is among us, and the cold breath of winter is at our backdoor. The positive side of all that, is the pretty winter clothing that comes along with it. It’s nice to snuggle up and be warm and cozy. I know I love it. Unfortunately, you can’t always stay snuggled up, and you do need to venture outside, where you are quickly reminded about how much you love the summer time. Your winter outerwear is very important. For most people, fabrics aren’t an issue, and Acrylic is definitely a warmth keeper. This shawl/scarf is made out of acrylic, and it’s huge. I measured it at 57” x 57”. I could be a little off, and by a little, I mean a tiny bit. Every time I tried to measure the scarf, it would move with the measuring tape, lol. It was quite comical, actually. The colors of this shawl remind me of fall. You have such pretty shades of beige, red, green, blue, yellow, and white in here. It really would go with pretty much any color. You do not only have to wear it as a scarf with your winter jacket. It’s so pretty, and flows so nicely, it can easily be an important part of your wardrobe, as well. You can add a pin to it, and style it just so, over your shoulders. They have pretty shawls slides that they sell, that you can add to this as well, for a special look. You can wrap it around your waist line, for another dramatic look as well. You can really do so much with it.

Since it is really large, you could be non-conventional and drape it across your couch, chair, or bed. You can do a no sew window treatment for the winter months. You are pretty much limited to your own imagination with this product. There is a little bit of fringe on this shawl, but it is very short fringe, about ½” in length. I prefer the shorter fringe. It frays less, and your product lasts so much longer. If you have to machine wash it, I highly suggest cool water, and placing it into a lingerie bag. Then, just drape it through a hanger and let it air dry. Acrylic has a distinct smell to me. Some more so than others. This product was much lighter on the “sweater” smell than other acrylic products I came across shopping today. It’s that time of year, and our stores are filling up with warm acrylic clothing and accessories. To top it off, they even include a pair of stretchy gloves with this shawl. The color of my gloves is a deep, bright pink. It’s a fun color, and my mom loves that color, so they will be hers. It’s a fun added bonus, and a great perk. You can never have enough gloves during the winter months. They get wet, dirty, or, more than not, you lose one glove, at a time, constantly throughout the winter, lol. That is a common occurrence. I really can’t find any negatives with this product. My set arrived with no imperfections, and arrived quickly. I can’t do acrylic due to odd allergies, but my mother can, so she is the big winner here.

Beep, beep, beep….New Sky Techs’ LCD Digital Kitchen Cooking Timer.

Timers are an item that all families use, no matter what their economic position. Be it for cooking, working out, timing your progress, homework, time outs for children, and more. I remember the old wind up models, which are still widely used today. They make that incessant ticking sound, lol. I always feel anxious while those are counting down. I love the silent, battery operated models better. You can focus on what you are doing, without feeling overly anxious with the impending countdown. This particular timer is both compact and easy to store and use. It has a large magnetic on the back, as well as a pop out stand. So, when you are not using it, you can just attach it to your fridge. The timer only measures 3 ¼” wide and 3” tall. It is also only 7/8^th” deep. These are my personal measurements. The only downside is to remember to have a AAA battery ready when it arrives. It will not operate without it, and it does not come with one, lol. The battery compartment is on the back of the timer, and no screwdriver is needed to access the compartment.

The stand on the back just pulls out to use, or push it back on flat, and use the magnetic base to mount it. This timer is pretty easy to use. There are three buttons on it: M for minutes, S for seconds, and ST/SP for start and pause your timer. Press in your time, for example 5 minutes and 25 seconds, the up press the ST/SP button. To pause it, press downward on the same button. Then to start it again, press upwards on it. Now, to clear it, just press the M and S buttons at the same time; that’s it. It is so easy to use The screen is not illuminated, but the numbers are big and easy to read at a glance. When the timer goes off, it makes the traditional beeping sound we all know and love, lol. Overall, it’s a reliable timer. I love the ease of use. I hate the fancy ones, that come with an actual booklet of directions, lol. I mean, really, it’s a timer, for the love of pearl. The directions for this are as simple as I already spelled out, and they are literally just printed on the packaging. I really like this one, and it’s found its’ home on my fridge.

A big ol pack of 60. – Best Standard Everyday White Hangers.

Hangers are not fancy to talk about, or even a common thought in ones’ head. But, they are one of those household items that we all have around the world. I really needed hangers, so I was looking forward to getting such a large set. I don’t like buying multiple small sets. I find that annoying for some reason. So, the thought of a set containing 60 hangers, was pretty awesome. These hangers arrive in a generic brown box, and yes, there were 60 in the box. They, unfortunately, are thinner than what I am used to using in a plastic hanger. Mind you, I normally only buy them at Walmart or Target. So, I was surprised that these were thinner than what I was used too. It has been some years since I have been hanger shopping though. I played with them, and played with them to see if they would be worth using, and they are. The corners have a webbed like feature, which actually make the thinner main bar, more sturdy, than I thought it would be. This is the same for the side rails as well. I was afraid the thinner design would make them too bendy when you had pants on them, and not just a simple shirt. They do have a lot of flex in them, don’t get me wrong. But, they are very usable, so I will be using them in my home. They measure out at 16″ long x 10″ tall x 1/4″ thick. I won’t be using clothes pins attached to them to hang dry pants, though. They are not sturdy enough for this purpose, unfortunately. I’ll have to use another set of hangers for that purpose. They may not be the thickest, or he fanciest of hanger, but they work for the everyday, lightweight wardrobe. I like using same color hangers in a closet. It gives the closet a clutter free look, as well as a more organized look.

Bell anyone? – Emdmaks’ Dog Bell Potty Training Bell Doorbell for Housebreaking & Housetraining

This is a great idea. I’ve had cats and horses in the past, and they really respond well to bell training. I do not have a dog, myself, right now, but have many, many, many friends who do, lol. One good friend is even a professional dog sitter, walker. Although, I think this would be great to use high up on a door, to let you know when people enter or leave. That is essential with little kids. No matter where you install it on your door, they do include the hardware to install it with. It only requires two screws. Now, if you want to install this on a glass door or metal door, you can get commercial strength double sided sticky tape, at your local hardware store, and still be able to use this. The bell unit is well made, and made out of all metal. It’s pretty attractive too, which is good, since it is now a fixture in your home. If you have cats, this would make a great toy for them, as well. My cats have always loved bells. It seems to be a favorite for most. The springiness of the bell is pretty nice. It’s a well-made product, and I feel, can be used for many purposes.

Time to grind. – Premium Stainless Steel Pepper Mill And Salt Mill By MIUMI – Set Of 2.

I do most of the cooking in our home, and from scratch as well. Salt and pepper are spices that cooks at all levels depend on. They are a kitchen essential, for sure. There are so many varieties of both, and they truly do taste fresher when ground at the time of use. In this set you will get two grinders. They are identical, and each one has a stainless steel cap on it, for when they are not in use. These grinders have brushed stainless steel tops, clear glass bodies, and non-corrosive ceramic blades. The ceramic blades are a hit on the market for grinders, including spice and coffee grinders, as well. The blades stay sharper for a longer period than the traditional stainless blades.

I love the tops on these units. They snap on very firmly, so if they are tipped over, you won’t have any salt or pepper residue all over you table. That really annoys me with traditional grinders. But, one great thing about these caps, that probably hasn’t occurred to you, is that they serve as a tiny spice bowl, for you cooks. I honestly would not have thought of that on my own, lol. I really like this feature. Leave the cap on when you grind, and then carefully pop the top off of the grinder. The top is about ½” deep on the inside. So for those of you that like to add a pinch of this, at a time, you can do that with these grinders, without having to get a separate bowl; highly convenient. I love the size of these containers. They are not tall and thin, which is not my favorite at all. They tip over way too often. These grinders are 2 5/8^th” wide at the bottom, which is very stable, especially since the grinders are only 5 ¼” tall. Since the actually spice container is pretty large, you can fit a lot in there; about 2/3rds of a cup. So, you will not always be refilling these. I also love that they are made out of a thick glass, which is a healthier way to store food, and that they are clear, so you can see the condition, and the available quantity, at a glance. Overall these are smooth working grinders. They are well built, and pretty to look at as well.

There’s always a need. – Bolt Goods MINI Plastic Meal Prep Containers (10 Pack 12 Ounce).

It’s great to have smaller containers on hand for leftovers. I always have extra left over from my meals I cook. I cook everything from scratch too, so I hate waste. These containers are 12oz containers, and you do indeed get 10 of them. They are BPA free and no phthalates or toxic additives, which is one less worry. I love how easily you can store 10 containers. They really stack together well. I have used containers like this in other sizes a lot. My husband and older son are on the road for work, all of the time. If they do not bring food from home, they just live on fast food, and that is not good. They love to take this type of containers. This size is great for one item, be it veggies, fruit, cheese slices for crackers, snacks, etc… They travel well, and work wonderfully in the microwave, too. The lid locks on really well. I was shocked when I first got containers like these. I thought they would be too thin to be any good, but they are pretty great. My guys prefer taking these containers over others. Since the lids lock on well, they don’t pop open on them if it slides off of their seat while driving. They can be used for portion control, easily, if you are on that type of diet. Since the tops lock on well, you can throw some snacks in one and throw it in your to go bag, when you are out with your little ones for the day, too. Overall, these are very convenient, highly usable and easy to clean. We are really happy with this new size. It’s very convenient for snacks for my guys.

Fuzzy slippers! – Norty – Grizzly Bear Animal Claw and Paw Slippers.

My son was so excited to get these slippers. He picked out the Polar Bear ones, from the different designs offered. We measured our feet, and know our shoes sizes, and we ordered accordingly. Unfortunately, these slippers run very small, so I have an upset young man on my side. He wears a size 5, and I wear a 7 ½ women’s. His feet are slightly smaller than mine, and our toes are pressed at the end of them. That, by the way, isn’t comfortable at all. So, be careful ordering these size wise. Quality wise, they were what I was expecting. We’ve all seen fuzzy slippers at the stores around the holidays, because they make fun gifts. These are quite fuzzy, and you will get some fuzz coming off the slippers at first. The fake claws are done in a padded shiny white material. There are 4 claws on each slipper. Overall, really cute. Mine arrived with no odor to them at all. Overall, very clean. They are highly padded as well. The bottoms were covered with silicone dots, creating the non-slip grip. Which is imperative on non-carpeted flooring. There is a tag in the slippers, by the heel area. You may want to cut that out so it doesn’t rub your heel. I’ve noticed no holes on mine, and the only imperfections noted were the fuzz coming off, and that this style runs small. The fuzz does stop coming off, though, so no worries. I’ve experienced this with other fuzzy items, like jackets and stuffed animals, so I wasn’t surprised. Overall these are well made, provide a lot of padding, and are comfortable to walk in. Down side, this style (polar bear) runs small.

A perfect home accessory. – Votamuta’s Tissue Roll Hanger Wall Mount Contemporary Style, Brushed Finish

It’s not always convenient to mount a product to your walls. For some reason the tp holder in my mom’s room keeps getting pulled out of the wall. I think it’s the area on the wall, It’s next to her walk in closet, and there are no direst studs in that area, and we are using wall anchors. Even if she just hits it with her knee, it’s coming off. I recently bought her one like this, and it works so much better. Now, some people aren’t handy, or have tiled walls, and don’t or can’t attach product that involve drilling. So, again, this peel and stick product is perfect. The entire back plate is covered with a thick, double sided sticky adhesive tape. (The tape is 3 ¼” x 1 5/8^th”.) It mounts, and stays. Make sure you are level prior to mounting it. Take out your level, and dry a small line, where you want to place it, and then place it on the line. It’s not moving once put in place. Make sure the area is nice and clean and dry before mounting it also, for longer adherence. This item is very sturdy. It is made better than the one I had bought my mom. The material is rust proof T-304 stainless steel. And pretty thick as well. There is a slight upswing of the arm, to then end of the arm. This, I’m sure, is to make sure your tp roll stays put, while in use. There is a ½” arm that sticks up to also make sure it does. I have no issues. We use the big TP Scott roll, and it fits on this perfectly. This is a great one for tight spaces as well, since it only protrudes out as for as your toilet paper roll, lol. The holders’ measurements are: 5 ¼” x 3 7/8^th” in size. Even though it is stainless steel it has a great brushed finish, and looks great paired with brushed nickel finishes. This product can also be used with dish towels/hand towels. I am using mine for my kitchen dish towel. I do not want to hang a towel for my door, so I hung this on the side of the cabinet that faces my sink. I love it there, since it lies so flat, and holds the towel perfectly. This is a very handy and useful piece. I’m so glad it’s well made and easy to mount as well.
