I got really excited about this product, when I first read about it. I’ve always wanted a way to turn my lights on from outside of the house, when I come home at night. It’s not only for safety, but I also have a son who is terrified of the dark. Safety, though, is my main concern. You hear about people coming home, only to find a criminal still in their house. That is a terrifying thought. Being able to walk into the lit environment, allows you to be able to react faster, and more safely. There are a lot of app related products now, but anything like that can be hacked, and then people can just mess with you, and that’s not something I feel like dealing with. This set from Innovative Home is pretty simple to set up. They have two options available. You can get 5 outlets with 2 remotes, or the version I bought. I bought the version that comes with 1 remote and three outlets. I went back and forth over my decision. Since I am a stay at home mom, I decided we really only need one remote for when we all go out together in the evening. Then, at night, we can keep the remote in our bedroom. If we hear a noise, we can turn on the main house lights with our remote, before heading into the rooms to see what it was. Yet, again, another important safety measure.

I am so happy how easy this set is to operate. I mean, the instruction pamphlet is literally a fold out sheet, less than 4 inches tall, lol. On the bottom of each plug in device there is a black button. You press the button, once it’s plugged into the outlet, and hold it. When it flashes, press the number button on the remote that you want it to be paired with. That is it. That is all you have to do. Before you can use the remote, you will need to pull out the plastic tab. It comes ready to go with batteries already installed in it. They designed this item, so when it is plugged into an outlet, you can still use the outlet underneath it. Sometimes these things are so large, that is not possible. The remote has two rows of buttons on it. They are clearly labeled as well. On the left side of the remote, you have the on buttons for 1,2,3, and All. On the right side of the remote, you have the off buttons for 1,2,3, and all. At first I wondered why they separated the on and off functions. After thinking about it, I decided it was a good thing for most people. In an emergency a lot of people can’t think straight. They might press the same button more than once, actually turning the lights back off on themselves. This way, that accident can’t really happen. This remote has a distance of up to 100ft away from the source. Being behind a bunch of walls is an issue. I couldn’t turn on the far away table lamp from behind my bedroom door. If I pointed it out of my bedroom door, then I could turn it on. There were too many obstacles. I still had a long hallway and wall in my way, from behind my bedroom door. I did not have to step out of my bedroom though. Which was a good sign. You can also turn the lights on as you enter the home, as long as those lights are in the main area you are entering. Not only is this a great safety measure, but it helps you conserve energy as well. We try and remember to leave a light on when we go out. Leaving a light on while you aren’t home all day costs money. So, this device can actually save you on your electrical bill as well. Overall, a great working product. It is simple to set up and use. It is a great and affordable safety measure to implement in the home.

One for the ladies! – New Design Beverage Can & Bottle Cooler Insulator Stainless Steel Koozie.

It’s time to be pretty in pink. Well, for me anyhow, lol. The competition has begun in the double walled construction, stainless steel beer koozies. This is number two for me to review. Yes, we even have the original Yeti one as well. My older son made sure of that. This one is not built up to the overall ruggedness of the Yeti, or even some of the competitors. It is however, made well, and functions well. The largest difference in construction and design is the “lid” of this koozie. It is completely made out of silicone. Even though it has threads built into it and the stainless itself, the lid just pushes on. The threads help keep it firmly in place. It stays put pretty well too though. A bottle can fit in here, but cans are really the forte of this holder. That is what I would stick with this product. The silicone is thick, and soft on the face. If you tip this into drink, and it rests on or hits your face, while drinking, this lid is soft and warm against the skin. Not hot from being outside, or cold, because it’s not made out of metal, like a lot of others.

This product is available in a total of 4 colors as well. So, you can get multiple, and everyone can be designated a color. They have the pink, black, navy blue, and red available. These are insulated, and will help to keep your drinks cold for a longer period than without. I can’t think of a hot can, lol. But, if you have heated coffee in a can, or bottle, this would help to keep it warmer, longer as well. You will not get that horrible can sweat anywhere, since this is a stainless insulated tumbler. They gave a cool tip on their ad page. They state to get the maximum coolness out of this koozie, to fill it with ice water prior to using it. Then let it sit for 5 – 10 minutes beforehand. That never would have occurred to me. It’s easier to just put ice in it, or to place it in the freezer. But then it is so cold to hold, lol. This is not made for the slim cans, but the regular old fashioned shaped soda and beer cans. Depending on the can that you have, it may be harder to shove the silicone top on, than with others. But, it won’t go anywhere once on. Overall, it’s not the best stainless can koozie out there, but it works, is comfortable on the face, and it’s priced well.

Beer time. – Solstus’ Double Wall Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated 12oz Can Colster

It is not a secret that my family loves its’ stainless steel tumblers. Since the tumblers have become widespread and heavily used, new forms have emerged. My older son gave the Yeti stainless can kozies, as gifts for Father’s Day this past year. So, we even have those, lol. This particular Solstus koozie is a competitor that has hit the market. There are some differences to this one, that makes it more usable for bottled beers, than the Yeti can koozie. This one’s shape is just slightly different. So, it can easily accommodate both 12oz cans and bottles. It is made out of plastic and stainless steel. There is even a secret, thermal lock gasket, that helps to secure your bottle or can. It definitely held our Corona really well. It didn’t rock at all, in the Koozie; a perfect fit. The stainless steel is 18/8 stainless, and it is vacuum sealed, double wall construction. That is what gives it it’s great insulation properties. The plastic is part of the screw on top. It is threaded well, and easy to do. Just unscrew the top, and place your bottle or can inside of it, and screw the top back on. Then, just enjoy, relax, or party. Whatever is on your agenda. It is stated that this koozie will keep your drink cooler 10X longer than without. It definitely keeps it cooler longer, I can attest to that much anyways. I like the little added green color of this holster. We like to call it Zombie Green, lol. It’s a fun twist to a stainless koozie. I love the no sweat factor this koozie delivers. And, you do not have to worry about it rusting here on the coast, since it is made out of quality stainless steel. It is just like our stainless steel tumblers. It’s comfortable to hold and use. It’s sturdy in construction, and highly durable. We have no complaints.

A beautiful dress. – Yazaco’s Vintage Swing Dress

I was so excited to get this dress. I have a lot of fabric sensitivities, and it’s so hard to find a dress nowadays that is not primarily made out of Polyester. I went to JCpennys, Belks, and Sears. Looked online, and Polyester, Polyester, Polyester, is all I saw. I really hate that fabric. Companies are switching to it because it is a cheaper fabric, and dresses snag easier, and wear faster. It means more turnover, and more profit for them. This dress is actually made out of 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex. The dress is just so beautiful. Nothing moves like Cotton, feels like Cotton, or Breathes like Cotton, but Cotton. I was also so relieved that the dress arrived in perfect condition.

It really is a quality dress. All of the stitching was done tight and on point. The zipper works perfectly. There were no odors, stains, holes, tears, snags, or imperfections. It is just perfect. Their size chart is off to the side, so do not use Amazon’s size chart. I wear a 36C bra, so I ordered the Large. I never go by waist size. I am short waisted anyhow, lol. But, since this dress either has to go over your hips, or slid on overhead, you need to make sure it can clear your hips or your shoulders. The zipper only goes down to the top of the waist line. I was able to step into this dress with no issues. I did however, need help to fully zip the dress. I couldn’t fully reach the zipper behind me. The zipper stays put on this dress. It won’t slide down on you and be embarrassing. I did not need a slip with this dress either. The front area, along the breast line, wrapped around to the back, is lined. That, and the material is thick enough not to be see thru. It really is made really well. The piping and seaming were done perfectly. I just love it. No, when it comes to washing it, they suggest hand wash only with cool water. Now, I do not hand wash, but I have a machine with no agitator. It’s basically a flat agitator. If you have a washer like that, you could put this dress in a lingerie bag with the zipper on the dress, zipped up. Then, wash it on the delicate setting, alone in the washer; problem solved, lol. The dress measures out at 42” long from the top of the back neckline, to the bottom hem. It’s a great length dress for most women, which is a great attribute to this dress. They offer it in sizes S-XXL, as well as 7 other patterns and design of dress as well. Overall, this is a well-made, beautiful dress. It fits a female figure beautiful, and is figure flattering, and forgiving. We are all not tall bean poles, and this dress doesn’t care.

The professional way. – Sohosparks’ Leather Journal, Lined, Extra Refill, Writer’s Notebook.

My older son loves to keep a journal in his truck for work, and plans. He loves using journals like this. He may be young, but he has old fashioned tastes. He much rather use a notebook like this over regular, disposable ones. It definitely has a more professional appeal and look to it. It makes you stand out a bit in the crowd, as well. This journal has lined pages in it, and a red ribbon as a page keeper. Even the refill notebook has a red ribbon page keeper. I think that is a really nice touch. It definitely beats a book mark, which can fall out, or bending the page over, which starts to be an issue after numerous pages have been marked in this way.

The Journal is indeed 8.5” long and 6 inches wide. It is almost an inch thick too. Which, is a very convenient size to carry. It is so easy to change out the internal notebook. The front and back cover just slide into coordinating pockets, that’s it. No skill required. I really like the embossed design on the Journal. The back is plain, and the front has a Latin saying,” Semper Explorans”. Meaning, always exploring. Then, they top it off with the compass design. It was nicely done. My journal arrived in perfect condition. It had no odor to it. The notebooks were in solid shape. I am loving the fact that they included the refill. It really is handy to have. No worries about ordering any, any time soon. They state the size of the refill is A5. The books have 120 pages in each one. The book has a leather look, but is made out of pleather. All of the stitching on the book was well done. There is no odor to it whatsoever. It should definitely last awhile. They did a great job with this product. My husband actually claimed this set for his work. Overall, this is a well-made professional product. It would definitely make for a great gift.

Time to create. – Premium Colored Pencils, 72 Piece Set.

I have been to a couple of art schools in my past. I have also raised three boys. So, I have gone through my share of colored pencils. Colored pencils are all the rage nowadays with adults. Especially because of the wide spread adult coloring phase that is wide spread. Coloring is a creative, mind opening, and relaxing habit. It’s very cathartic to those who have a lot of stress in their lives. I am really happy with this set of colored pencils from StrapRight.

They are soft core colored pencils, and come in a great tin storage case. So many companies are skimping on the packaging nowadays, and I think this tin really makes a difference. It was definitely a thing I looked for when I went to art school. Your pencils had a much better chance of not getting broken that way. It really does help to prolong their lifespan. When you open this tin, you will only see one tray of colored pencils. The other tray is located underneath it. When you are using them, you can place the top tray in the open lid spot, thus enabling you to have both trays of colored pencils available to you at once. These are 7” pencils, and you get a whopping 72 of them. To top it off, they are all different colors as well. They all come pre-sharpened, so they are ready to go upon arrival. All of my pencils arrived in perfect condition. The colors are true to what you see. You do not have to do layer upon layer to get the hue you are going for. They have a medium softness value, so you do not have to apply a lot of pressure when coloring, like you do with your kids cheap Crayola or Roseart colored pencils. My son hates those now, after trying my better quality pencils. They really don’t compare. Also included with these pencils is an EBook , 50 page, adult coloring book. You can print and color. It’s nice to have that options, especially if your kids want to color too. The value of this set is incredible. The colors are vibrant, and you have so many choices. It really is a great, well rounded set.

Privacy achieved. – Danaces’ Self-Adhesive Window Film Sticker.

We are renovating a home. In the Master Bathroom, there is a large window. We toyed with the idea of applying spray window frosting to the glass, but that is not reversible, and it doesn’t always come out even, which is so ugly. I was very excited to see this window cling. We have used window cling in the past on my mother’s French doors, so the concept is not new to me. The only reason she removed it, was because she replaced her doors, lol. It was still going strong.

This window cling arrives with very clear, installation instructions. That is key. It arrives, tightly rolled up, which is usual for this type of product. Be very, very careful peeling the cellophane wrapper off of the roll. I almost ripped part of my instructions. Now, the window film itself is a nice thickness. It has the frosted look that I was looking for. I suggest making a templet out of cardboard, or thick, cardstock paper, and then trace it onto the film, and cut accordingly. If you have small panes, like I do, make sure you make it a little bigger, and then trim to fit with a box cutter, while it’s adhered to the window. When you install this film, make sure you thoroughly clean your window first. Then, spray it with some mildly soapy water, and apply your window film. Do not forget to peel off the backing on the window film. Lol, I did the first time, and was so frustrated. They even clearly state it in their directions, too. Then squeegee it, to get out the excess water and air bubbles. When you are all done, cut off the excess window film. I am really, really pleased with the outcome.

I cannot believe how well it stays up, and how much privacy it actually affords you. It is so wonderful, and a relief to me since we were doing it to a bathroom window. That is a room you really want privacy in. Besides privacy, this window film also blocks out light, UV rays, and helps energy conservation. That is key for us also, it’s an older home with older windows. The roll is indeed 17.7” wide by 78.7” long. So, measure out your window first, and plan on how much you will need prior to ordering. I absolutely love this product, and I like that they have it available in several different options. We did just half of the window for the review, to show the drastic difference. My window will be completely covered, and I am just thrilled with it. I am very comfortable recommending this product.

Perfect for the 30oz Yeti Tumbler! – Grip-Its’ YETI Tumbler Handle for 30oz Rambler

We live with our 30oz tumblers, in our home. This new fad of the double walled, stainless steel tumblers, is a great one. They really do keep our drinks cold longer, and our hot coffee, hot, longer. We also take ours on the go, and even outside, just to relax. It’s not always convenient to carry these tumblers. The 30oz is pretty wide. I love that they have come out with handles. When your hands are full, and you have to still open doors for your kids, these handles really make a difference. This particular handle, from Grip-It, is made really well too. It is very sturdy, and eco-friendly as well. It is made out of BPA free plastic, and is also recyclable, if it were to ever break, or if you got tired of it, lol. I can’t imagine getting tired of it. We have an SUV, and a Truck. My mom has a small Corolla. We can all fit our 30oz tumblers, with this handle, in our cup holders. Of course, I can’t put another cup in the adjoining spot, in my SUV. But, Ha, I really don’t care about that, lol. I’m glad I can bring my cup down with me. You just slip your tumbler through the top, and let the weight of the cup take over. I always give it a little push to make sure it’s on tight. After that, this handle will not slip or slide on you at all. To remove your cup, you need to push down on the handle, to break the hold. This fits our Yeti, and some of the competitor cups very well. We only have one competitor that designed their cup with a wider top, believe it or not. I love the ridged design of the handle. It gives it a little flare, to what is otherwise a plain cup. It is even available in 10 color choices as well. So, you could actually get one in a different color for everyone in your family. Overall, this is a well-made, sturdy handle. It fits our tumblers very well, and is comfortable to hold and use.
