My family is big into being prepared. It amazes me how many people do not have the basic items in their home, that can help them and their families in an emergency. From my past experience as a nurse, and in life in general, I can say that a lot of emergencies involve the lights going out, or occurring at night. I believe that you should have at least one flashlight per person, in your home, and extras for company, or flashlight failure. We have several different types per person, in our home. This particular flashlight necklace from BHBody is so unique. I love how it has entered the preparedness arena. People wear neck knives, and tools, and now we can add a stunning looking necklace flashlight. My guys love the look. I, as a female, absolutely love the look. It is a great size at 1 ¾”, it’s an easy size to wear. The chain and flashlight are made out of titanium alloy materials. I think the chain is stainless, but I’m not positive. The chain is a 26” chain, and slips right over my head. That is my personal measurement. So, there’s a great chance you won’t have to undo it to put it on and off. That is highly convenient. The length of the chain, also allows you to use the light, without removing it from your neck. Obviously, that won’t be convenient for everything, but it’s a great option. This is a twist on light to, which is quick and silent, in case you need to be silent. Just twist it clockwise to turn it on, and counter clockwise to turn it off. When the light starts to get weak, just plug it into your micro USB, and let it be. It will not overcharge, and there is an LED light that goes from red to green, once it’s fully charged. It took about 30 minutes for my light to charge. You need to supply your own micro USB. Now, the charging port is located under the top of the flashlight. Unscrew it like you are turning it off, but keep on turning until it comes off completely. You will see the micro USB port on the side of the light. This is pretty bright for a tiny light. It puts off 130 lumens of a bright, white light. I love LEDs. They are so much more user friendly. No poisonous chemicals to deal with. They do not break easily when you drop the light, and they last soooo much longer than regular bulbs as well. This LED is a CREE-XP-G2 LED, and is rated for up to 50,000 hours. No matter how many times I see a lifespan of a LED, it always impresses me. I am a bit of a LED nut, lol. What I also find impressive, is that this tiny light is also a dual mode light. It actually has low and high. High is the 130 lumens. When you start to turn the cap to turn it on, it will first reach low mode, and when you keep turning, you will reach the high mode. You can’t miss it. It has an IPX8 waterproof rating, which means that it is water resistant up to 2M, and has an impact resistance rating of 1.5m. So, this means you can use this light in the rain, and if you drop it from standing, it will be fine and dandy. The internal rechargeable battery is an 10180 Li battery. They state that you can change out the battery when it finally goes. The LED will last longer than the battery. I have dropped the light and ran the light under the faucet. I have had no issues with it. I absolutely love it. It would make a great gift, as it even comes in a fancy gift box, that looks just like a jewelry gift box. You do have the option of putting it on your key ring as well, so it’s not stuck as a necklace only. It’s quite the handy and usable flashlight. I really love it.

So easy to decorate with. – HIKETOLIGHT’s LED Rice Light One Kit.

I love LED lighting. It is so much fun nowadays. There are so many different types too. This particular type is commonly known as fairy lights. They can be used year round too. I love, love, love that this unit comes with a AC power adapter. They are so easy to use this way. Since they also have an IP65 waterproof rating, they can even be used outside. Just make sure you waterproof your electrical outlet. That is on you, lol. These lights are so cool. They are made out of a metal wire, and the little lights are threading throughout the wire. The wire bends and conforms to the surface so easily. They stay put where you put them. I love wrapping them on a railing, it’s so pretty. The warm white lights are so pretty. These lights have 6 modes, but my favorite is steady on. You have different speeds of pulsing, and then flashing. The little LEDs are so bright, the flashing ones hurt my eyes, so solid on it is. You can wrap these around plants, across shelving, picture frames, wreaths, and more. You have approx. 33ft of wire to decorate with. The wire is a silver color, and looks pretty and decorative, even when off. This feature really makes decorating so much easier. You don’t have to worry so much about trying to disguise the wire. You can mold it into shapes, like a heart, star, box with a bow, because it is wire, and then hand the shape up on the wall. It is easy to do too. LED lighting, such as these, use so little energy too. Because the energy consumption is so low, and only needs 1A to run, you don’t have to think twice about using them daily. And since they do not get hot to the touch, you don’t have to worry if your kids or animals bump into them. They do not state the estimated lifespan of their LEDs, but my fairy lights that I already owned, have an estimated 25,000-hour lifespan. I do know LEDs last a long time. For example. I put a pair of solar fairy lights like these outside, about 6 months ago, and they are still coming on every night and stay lit throughout the night. My set from Hiketolight has been working wonderfully. I absolutely love my set.

Handmade LED mason jar candle light. – HAIMI’s Led Candle Light.

I love LEDs, and I love candles. This particular one is so cute too. If you are a mason jar nut, then you will really love it too. It’s a mini mason jar with screw on lid and LED tea light inside of it. So, whenever the LED candle runs out of life, you can easily replace it, and keep on rolling with this one. The jar measures out at 3 ½” tall and 2 ½” wide. It was done in the country/shabby chic styling. It has grape vines wrapped around it, and a sprig place inside with the tea light too. The one inside the jar can be a little annoying, lol. You need to pull it all the way out to remove the candle, to turn it on. I keep thinking I’m going to break it doing that, but so far so good. LEDs are so great. They are durable, eco-friendly, and last such a long time. The batteries will give out before the LED in the tea light. The installed batteries have a 30-hour lifespan, and can be replaced. It uses 3 little button batteries.

Each candle is handmade, and so may look a little different from the picture. You can use these anywhere, and around anyone. The give off no heat, or scent; just lovely light. You can place this on your desk at work, in the bathroom, and bedside. It is so portable. You can travel with it, and use it in your hotel room. You can use it camping too. This is nice to use out on your porch as well. If you get a few, you can safely place them throughout your home during a blackout. I think these would be so great on a mantle during the holidays with garland wrapped around them. Since they don’t use real fire, or put off heat, they are so safe to use. If you have people with bad allergies or asthma in the home, these are the healthier way to have soft, relaxing candle light in the home. You can even think receptions, banquets and weddings with these. You can’t use real fire at most event halls nowadays, due to insurance and fire hazard issues. With these, you’ll be good to go. I am really enjoying my candle from Haimi.

Lights up the dark! – D.L. Life’s 50W LED Outdoor Security Floodlight.

I’m not so fond of the darkness, lol. I can be outside of my home and feel very secure. As soon as night time falls, everything changes. In other words, I am a fan of outdoor lighting. This light is very bright indeed. It really lights up a large area. It’s a hard wired light, and a 50W LED. That’s a lot of light. They state it puts off approx.. 4000 lumens. I do not have the ability to test it, but if we look toward it we do see stars, lol. This makes a great shop light/work light. You can hang it under an eave to illuminate the outside of your home as needed, or your garage, etc. My husband is a commercial electrician and really likes this light. It is made out of stainless steel and glass. Ours is well made. It is outdoor worthy with it’s IP65 waterproof rating. Make sure you mount it securely. It weighs 5.6lbs, and has an adjustable handle so you can set it at the angle you need. It measures out at 11.9” long, 9.7” tall, and 6.4” deep. It is equivalent to a 500W Halogen bulb, for comparison. This light is eco-friendly. It uses a lot less energy, and is more durable and long lasting. It has no toxic chemicals in it if broken, and can be disposed of in a regular manner. It’s not hazardous waste, like fluorescents. Our light is steady on. We have no flickering or dimming with ours. It’s nice and quiet, and doesn’t do any buzzing or humming. I love how bright it is. You don’t have to second guess what you are looking at if you are using it as a security light. While I was testing it out with our makeshift plug, it lit up our entire living room/kitchen combo room; pretty impressive. If you are looking for a cost effective way to really light up your shop or for added security, this one will definitely do the job.

I am a LED nut, just love them! We have switched a lot of the household over to LED bulbs over the year, including outside, and we have noticed a drop in the electric bill. It was a lot larger than anticipated as well, so happy dance time. I just love them. Our kitchen chandelier takes the candelabra size, and all of our other lamps and lights take the standard size bulb. I really like these two from Atek. The candelabra bulb is a 6W LED, and the standard sized Atek bulb is a 9W LED bulb.

The candelabra bulbs are so well made. They are so solid in hand, it’s impressive. It’s definitely a different feel from the incandescent type, that I always feel like I am going to break. You get two in a package of these. They are very well packaged too, so no worries of them breaking during shipment. These LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours. That is a long time! This is a replacement for the traditional 40-60W incandescent bulbs, so they are pretty bright. These do not have a light filter on them, so they are best used in a shade situation, or they can be too bright on the eyes. This is not a dimmable light. But it is a really nice warm white light. They are a tad longer than the 30-40W equivalents. These measure out at 5.5” long from bottom to tip.

 

The regular everyday bulb has the eye filter built into it, so It affords plenty of light, but is still nice on the eyes. This is a 9W bulb and is equivalent to a 60-75W incandescent bulb. Which is pretty bright, and really lightens a room. It is rated to last 35,000 hours. I love how durable these bulbs are. I don’t have to worry about my kids goofing around. I had one of my sons break their compact fluorescent that was in their ceiling fan. Those have powdered Mercury in them, which is highly toxic. What a nightmare that was to clean up. You can’t vacuum it, because it kicks it and disperses it in the air. He didn’t sleep in his room for a week, and I had to throw so much away. These have no chemicals in them, last a long time, and are so durable. These are perfect for a child’s room. They offer a cool white light, and are non-dimmable.

 

Overall, these lights are solid, and offer bright, clear light. They are non-toxic and safe for the environment. They are very energy efficient, and will save you money on your electric bill.

Portable, solar lighting. – Vproof Direct’s Solar Light Portable Magnet Outdoor/ Indoor Rainproof Solar Lantern.

I am an LED nut, and a solar one too. You really can’t beat the combination either. LEDs are so durable and long lasting. I love how clear and bright their lights are too. I hate compact flourescents, and am so glad they are being used less and less. People treat them like a regular light bulb, when they are filled with a powder form of Mercury, which is so toxic. My older on broke one once in his room. What an extreme nightmare that was. Kids and animals can break LED lights in the home, without worry of any toxic fallout. So yea, I love LEDs!!!!!!!!!!!! I do have a collection. I am not to fond of the dark, and either is my youngest. It’s great to have a back of source of light when the lights go out do to a storm, or while traveling. This particular light is so cool. I love it. Not only is it waterproof, an LED, and solar powered, but is also has magnets on the back of it. It really holds too! And, to add icing to the cake, it also has a loop, so it can be hung and/or attach your own carabineer clip to it. That way you can clip it to your pack, solar panel out, so it charges throughout the day. This light is lightweight at 3.2oz and measures only 5” in diameter. It has 10 LEDs in it, and three modes: low, high, and a slow strobe/flash. That is the order how they come on as well. On low, which is still pretty bright, this light can go up to 8 hours on a full charge, and up to 5 on the other modes. I charged mine up through my window in the living room, so It’s so simple to do. On high, this light is 90 lumens, and can illuminate approx. 15sq. ft. of light. I have to admit, I didn’t measure the light area, lol. But, I can say, it really does illuminate a good area. It would definitely light up a tent, or the inside of a work trailer. It has a 3.7VDC Lithium Polymer Battery in it. There is only one button on the back of the light, in the middle of the solar panel. This operates the entire light; so simple. If you had to get out of your vehicle at night, in the dark, this light wood really be helpful. It would stick to the outside of the car, and give you hands free light, which is a great safety aid. I love that. You can have it charge by throwing it on your dash during the day, and then it can really serve as a great emergency light if you should need it, at night. I really can’t say enough about this light. It has so many useful attributes to it. It has quickly become one of my favorites.

My son loves his new light. – Innovation Product’s Portable LED Folding Desk Lamp.

We love LED lighting in my home. It is a bright and clear light. No more harmful, poisonous chemicals in our lighting, with LEDs. My older son shattered a compact fluorescent in his room a while back. He had to sleep in the living room for a week. They have mercury powder in them. It cannot be vacuumed up. The whole episode was horrifying to me. LEDs are safe to have around your family, and that is priceless to me. This is a really cute and fun light from Innovation Products. It looks like a can but extends into a light/night light. It has an internal 500mAh battery, and maintains a charge. So, you can keep it charged up, and your child can carry it with them into a tent, down the dark hallway, camping, and bedside at night. It is only a 3W light, but really is bright. It does make a great reading light, and task oriented, work light. The light charges via a USB cord provided. It is not a micro USB cord, so don’t lose it, lol. After it is charged, slide the top half of the can upwards. Then fold the light out. You will see a white button down towards the base. The first press turns on the reading light. The second press turns off the reading light, and turns on the night light. This light is so cute! It comes out the top of the can and displays a star pattern on the wall or ceiling. The LED light rotates through colored LEDs. We love it. It really is an eco-friendly way for your kids to use a night light. Even with the Santa on the outside of the can, it can still be used year round. Just place a vinyl sticker or regular sticker over the small Santa. My son loves it as is, lol. He absolutely hates the dark, and this is small enough for him to carry anywhere. It is only just over 6 ½” tall. The night light feature is really so cute, and the reading light is bright and really offers a lot of light at only 3W. It really is a welcomed addition to our home.

The safe way to have candle light. – Top Race’s LED Color Changing Real Wax Candles, Flameless Weatherproof Candle Lights with Remote & Timer.

Candles, candles, candles! I love them. These real wax, battery operated candles are fun to use. You have no fire worries, or burn worries around your children and pets. You can fall asleep with them on, or walk out of the room, and not have to worry. A great piece of mind while enjoying a candle like experience. My youngest is currently afraid of real candles. It’s not even worth lighting one, because he freaks out, and it’s no longer relaxing to have going. Another plus side of battery operated candles, is that you don’t have to worry about what’s burning from the candle into your air. This set from Top Race is pretty nice. You get three candles and 1 remote control in your package. Each candle requires 3 AAA batteries that you have to supply. No screwdriver is needed to access the compartment. The battery for the remote is included. Just pull out the plastic from the battery compartment before use. On the bottom of each candle is also an on/off switch. You need to turn them on here to use them. You can leave that in the on position and turn them off with the remote. Remote controls make everything better. The candles are different sizes, which makes for a nice trio: 4”, 5”, and 6”. These are pillar candle style, and are approx.. 3” across. Each candle has LEDs in it, and afford 12 different colors. With the remote you have the choice of twelve different colors. You can have them rotate through the colors, or stay on a solid color of your choice. You can also have them be solid on, or in a simulated flickering mode. The flickering mode is actually very enjoyable. The white LED and the yellow LED makes these look realistic while on. I love that the exterior is done in a real wax. They are fragrant free, but you can smell the wax when you first open them up. One of my candles had some cracks in it upon arrival. I received them to review, so I did not return them. You can obviously exchange them if that happened to you. When on, these do not put off an odor. The do not even get warm to the touch. If you use rechargeable batteries, then you really have an eco-friendly product here. These are great for relaxing evenings, romantic evenings, power outages, by your bathtub, outside on your patio, and more. They are weather friendly, so you can use them outside. You can even set these on a 4 or 8 hour timer. You are really going to find these enjoyable. I know I have.

I love solar lighting. It’s a no running cost way to provide outdoor lighting. What’s not to love. It’s a known fact that well-lit homes are less likely to be broken into than non-lit homes, and this is a no brainer way to do it. Especially since most solar lighting, is made with LEDs. LEDs are durable, and last for such a long time. They afford bright, clear light as well. This is LifeStance’s newer, upgraded version. It has a longer battery life, and the light is much brighter. This solar light, on bright, has 300 lumens of light. That will really brighten our way. This particular light will come on at dusk and stay on in Dim mode. When it detects motion, it goes on High mode. It will stay on High for 10 seconds, according to my actual counting, and then it goes back to dim. On a full sun, all day charge, this light will run 12 hours, and will go off at dawn. If it gets put on high throughout the night, it won’t last as long. This light has an internal 18650 lithium, 2200mAH battery. It charges in full sun, so make sure you place it where it will get that. It will charge slowly on overcast days, it just won’t stay lit for nearly as long. This solar light is pretty nice looking. Some aren’t, so I am very happy with this one. It is also quite weatherproof, which is essential for outdoor lighting. This is a lightweight unit, made out of plastics, and metal. It also comes with the hardware for install, and easy directions to follow. There is an actual on/off switch on this light. Not all solar lights have this, which makes this light extremely user friendly. To test the light in home, just go into a hallway where it’s darker. This one has a real dusk setting. Some really need it to be dark to go on. This one doesn’t need such an extreme. This light has 6 LED chips in it now, compared to 4 in their older style. They state that the sensor can work from sensor length to 16-26 feet, and the distance can be affected by temperature. My home is on stilts, so I am higher up. My distance is off with the added height, but it is a very sensitive sensor. I like it a lot. Some I have to really wave at, to get it to pick me up. Not with this light. I am very happy with this product.

Stage lighting is a lot of fun. I have been able to review a few of them, and my favorite are by far, the ones that come with a remote, lol. Remotes do make things better. This particular stage light is quite user friendly too. They are not all like that! With the remote you can change up the light settings, colors, speeds, and turn it on and off. It runs pretty quiet for stage lighting also. When it arrives you will need to pull the plastic tab out of the remote. It comes with the battery. The stage light has the power plug attached to it. You do need to attach the arm bracket which acts as both the stand and hanging bracket for the light. Just unscrew the knobs on the side of it, and use those to attach it to the light. This light also has DMX in and outputs on the back of it. Lose the remote, no problem. You have the ability to manual set it on the back, as long as you know the settings. They do include an instruction booklet with the light. This is a 12 par light. It has 3 green, 3 red, 3 white, and 3 blue LEDs in it. It gets a little warm to the touch while running, which is much better than the old lights. It does have an internal fan to keep the heat level at bay. It also doesn’t use as much electricity; only 12W. The modes this unit has are: Auto-Play mode, Sound active mode, DMX mode, and Master-Slave mode. For the amount this light can do, it’s amazingly small in stature. It is only 5” in diameter, and 5 ½” deep with stand. But it really fills the room with fun lights. Being lightweight, it is perfect for parties, and really perfect for DJ’s. My light is running flawlessly, and I am very comfortable recommending this product.
