Electricity is pretty much the life blood of people nowadays. Nothing runs without power. Our electronics have evolved so much over the years, and we really haven’t updated our homes and offices, to keep up. It’s not always convenient to plug in adapters. It’s aesthetically not pretty to look at. They can be bulky, and knocked out the outlet easily. I also experience a lot of issues with a lot of fast charging adapters. I have them burn out a lot, and/or they get really hot to the touch, while in use. I have other outlets from this company, and they are really nice. My husband is a commercial electrician, so he is picky about the outlets we install and use. He really likes their products as well. This particular outlet is one of their newer ones. It is the first “In-Wall Qualcomm® Certified Quick Charge 3.0 USB charger featuring up to 4X faster Charging to Enabled Devices”. That’s impressive, and I feel assured going into a new product, seeing that certification. This particular outlet actually arrives with three different colored face plates. The white cover arrives installed on the unit, and a separate beige, and black cover, are individually wrapped in the box. A surprise to me, was that this time, they included a micro USB cord with this outlet. We just use android devices, so we love that. But then, most items, other than phones and tablets, use micro USBs to charge as well. This particular outlet has 1 – 3 prong plug outlet, and 2 – 2.4Amp max output, according to the devices’ power needs, ports. It will not over charge your item, as well as give it more power than it needs. It has smart charging as well as fast charging abilities.

We installed this outlet in our kitchen that’s being renovated. Kitchen areas tend to be a hub, for most families. It’s nice to be able to just plug in charge. Our devices link up right away with this outlet. With their included cord, or our other Samsung fast charger cords, it actually comes up on our phones as Fast Charging. It is most definitely a fast charger. We can charge our phones from almost dead, to full, in about 30-40 minutes. A task, which normally takes at least two hours on regular chargers. Our phones actually tell you when you have real fast charging going on. So, I most definitely believe their claims on this outlet. This outlet is a normal install. It sits a little deeper than some basic outlets, but most boxes are sized to accept these larger ones. It sits 1 ½” deep. It can also be installed in a GFCI outlet too. It can be tricky to remove their faceplates. There is a little indent on the end of the plate. You can place a butter knife, or flat head screwdriver, into this area, and pop it off, if needed. We used the white plate that came installed on it. Now, you do need to supply your own Cover plate for this outlet. They can be found easily at your local hardware store. We went with a stainless steel one for this outlet. This 15A outlet is also tamper proof in case you have little children. Some can’t resist trying to push things into outlets. So, no worries with this one. Overall, this is a great working product. It is reliable and made well. It was easy to install and supplies actual fast charging, as described.

Sparkles! – Gao Ges’ LED String Lights -100 Leds, 33 feet Copper Wire.

I absolutely love fairy lights on copper wire. First off, I love, love, love copper. No clue why, but I do. The color is so rich and vibrant. It has always been a favorite of mine. I was thrilled when they first came out with these lights. So, I am not new to them. This set is waterproof, but the waterproofing of the outdoor outlet will be up to you. That part is not waterproof. This particular set from the Gao Ge store on Amazon, is 33 feet long, and has 100 LEDs on it. 100 beautiful, warm white, LEDs. The thin copper wire is surprisingly more durable than you would think, and the LEDs are interwoven into the wire. I think it’s pretty cool how they do this. This particular set is a one mode set. They stay steady on. The cord does separate; in case you have a remote set up. These lights will accept it. Fortunately, the lead line is a good length (18”), which makes setup easier. This wire really stays put too. You can wrap it around almost anything, and it won’t budge. For example, I had a set of solar powered fairy lights, copper ones like these. I wrapped them around the landing banister of the deck. It stayed out for almost a year, before the cord was cut by the edger. We had a hurricane go through, and a ton of storms. They never, ever budged an inch. I just wrapped them around the banister too. I did not use anything at all to keep them in place. I love LEDs, they are so durable, and just keep on going, no matter what. They have a really long life span, thousands of hours. This company did not state the specific amount of hours from what I could find. From my past with this type of light, it’s normally around 50,000 hours.

These lights do not get hot to the touch at all, so little ones won’t hurt themselves if they accidently touch them. These lights use so little energy as well. They only consume 12W of power. You can do almost anything with these, as long as you have a nearby outlet. They have a regular 2 prong plug on them. You can place them inside a bottle. You can decorate your patio like I did, or your bedroom, wreaths, pictures, behind frames, and more. With the holidays coming up, you can decorate around your decorations with these. Since they are so neutral, and offer a warm white light, they can be used year round as well. There is really nothing I do not like about these lights. I am a big, big fan.

A great security measure for your home. – Innovative Home’s Wireless Remote Control Outlet Switch.

I got really excited about this product, when I first read about it. I’ve always wanted a way to turn my lights on from outside of the house, when I come home at night. It’s not only for safety, but I also have a son who is terrified of the dark. Safety, though, is my main concern. You hear about people coming home, only to find a criminal still in their house. That is a terrifying thought. Being able to walk into the lit environment, allows you to be able to react faster, and more safely. There are a lot of app related products now, but anything like that can be hacked, and then people can just mess with you, and that’s not something I feel like dealing with. This set from Innovative Home is pretty simple to set up. They have two options available. You can get 5 outlets with 2 remotes, or the version I bought. I bought the version that comes with 1 remote and three outlets. I went back and forth over my decision. Since I am a stay at home mom, I decided we really only need one remote for when we all go out together in the evening. Then, at night, we can keep the remote in our bedroom. If we hear a noise, we can turn on the main house lights with our remote, before heading into the rooms to see what it was. Yet, again, another important safety measure.

I am so happy how easy this set is to operate. I mean, the instruction pamphlet is literally a fold out sheet, less than 4 inches tall, lol. On the bottom of each plug in device there is a black button. You press the button, once it’s plugged into the outlet, and hold it. When it flashes, press the number button on the remote that you want it to be paired with. That is it. That is all you have to do. Before you can use the remote, you will need to pull out the plastic tab. It comes ready to go with batteries already installed in it. They designed this item, so when it is plugged into an outlet, you can still use the outlet underneath it. Sometimes these things are so large, that is not possible. The remote has two rows of buttons on it. They are clearly labeled as well. On the left side of the remote, you have the on buttons for 1,2,3, and All. On the right side of the remote, you have the off buttons for 1,2,3, and all. At first I wondered why they separated the on and off functions. After thinking about it, I decided it was a good thing for most people. In an emergency a lot of people can’t think straight. They might press the same button more than once, actually turning the lights back off on themselves. This way, that accident can’t really happen. This remote has a distance of up to 100ft away from the source. Being behind a bunch of walls is an issue. I couldn’t turn on the far away table lamp from behind my bedroom door. If I pointed it out of my bedroom door, then I could turn it on. There were too many obstacles. I still had a long hallway and wall in my way, from behind my bedroom door. I did not have to step out of my bedroom though. Which was a good sign. You can also turn the lights on as you enter the home, as long as those lights are in the main area you are entering. Not only is this a great safety measure, but it helps you conserve energy as well. We try and remember to leave a light on when we go out. Leaving a light on while you aren’t home all day costs money. So, this device can actually save you on your electrical bill as well. Overall, a great working product. It is simple to set up and use. It is a great and affordable safety measure to implement in the home.

Privacy achieved. – Danaces’ Self-Adhesive Window Film Sticker.

We are renovating a home. In the Master Bathroom, there is a large window. We toyed with the idea of applying spray window frosting to the glass, but that is not reversible, and it doesn’t always come out even, which is so ugly. I was very excited to see this window cling. We have used window cling in the past on my mother’s French doors, so the concept is not new to me. The only reason she removed it, was because she replaced her doors, lol. It was still going strong.

This window cling arrives with very clear, installation instructions. That is key. It arrives, tightly rolled up, which is usual for this type of product. Be very, very careful peeling the cellophane wrapper off of the roll. I almost ripped part of my instructions. Now, the window film itself is a nice thickness. It has the frosted look that I was looking for. I suggest making a templet out of cardboard, or thick, cardstock paper, and then trace it onto the film, and cut accordingly. If you have small panes, like I do, make sure you make it a little bigger, and then trim to fit with a box cutter, while it’s adhered to the window. When you install this film, make sure you thoroughly clean your window first. Then, spray it with some mildly soapy water, and apply your window film. Do not forget to peel off the backing on the window film. Lol, I did the first time, and was so frustrated. They even clearly state it in their directions, too. Then squeegee it, to get out the excess water and air bubbles. When you are all done, cut off the excess window film. I am really, really pleased with the outcome.

I cannot believe how well it stays up, and how much privacy it actually affords you. It is so wonderful, and a relief to me since we were doing it to a bathroom window. That is a room you really want privacy in. Besides privacy, this window film also blocks out light, UV rays, and helps energy conservation. That is key for us also, it’s an older home with older windows. The roll is indeed 17.7” wide by 78.7” long. So, measure out your window first, and plan on how much you will need prior to ordering. I absolutely love this product, and I like that they have it available in several different options. We did just half of the window for the review, to show the drastic difference. My window will be completely covered, and I am just thrilled with it. I am very comfortable recommending this product.

A beautiful set of sheers. – HLC.ME 2 Piece Sheer Window Curtain Grommet Panels.

I love sheer curtains, and I love how they are now available with grommets. I like to place a pair of sheers in-between a set of solid color curtains, on a large window. I think it softens up the look, and really adds some flare too what would otherwise be a flat look. It’s hard to commit to a pattern on curtains, because than you’re stuck with a design. But, with plain curtains, you can add sheers to add flare to the window. It’s like jewelry, and your clothing. These sheers are pretty. They are sheers and, we all know, that means thin fabric. These sheers arrived with no stains, tears, or snags. They had absolutely no odor to them upon arrival. I have anaphylactic reactions to heavy chemical use in fabrics, and I had no issues with these curtains. I can’t believe they have them available in 20 color options. I am loving my white ones. It’s such a fresh, breezy color. It’s perfect paired with my new grey curtains. Each panel is 54” wide, and I ordered the 84” length, to match my curtains. All of the grommets were done well. There are 8 per panel. They even have 4 length options as well. The stitching was as well done as expected on this sheer fabric. I have no unravelling spots, or pulled spots. I’ve tried sewing on this thin fabric before, and it’s an adventure if you don’t do it all of the time, lol. The material used is Polyester Voile. Fortunately, my 2 panels were the same length and size. They were ready to go right out of the package. When you hang them between two curtain panels, you can open your curtain panels, and still keep the sheers drawn. I love the diffused light, and it actually still helps with energy savings. I am really happy with my new sheers.

Sweet dreams. – Restoration Goods’ Italian Luxury Soft Brushed Microfiber 4 Piece Deluxe Bed Sheet Set.

I am always amazed at how much everything is going up in price. Basic necessities cost so much nowadays. Bedding is also getting out of hand. It’s truly ridiculous. I was so surprised to see sheets for a King sized bed be so affordable. Currently they are only $25.50 for a complete set. They are very soft to the touch, and are easily machine washed and dried. In a set comes: 1 fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, and 2 King sized pillow cases. These are microfiber sheets, but the material used is Polyester. They happen to be 100% Polyester. I can’t personally sleep on these sheets. I have a huge skin sensitivity to Polyester. I, however, will be using the fitted sheet to cover up my box springs. We are going to a platform bed soon, and I needed an extra fitted sheet for this purpose. Putting a sheet over your Box springs helps to keep the dust down too. The pillow cases measure out at 40” long and 20” wide. There is a flap on the inside of the pillowcase to tuck your pillow in as well. That is a nice feature at this price point. My sheets arrived in very good condition. I had no holes, tears, stains, or snags on them. There was also no odor whatsoever to them as well. I love the fitted sheet in this set. It actually has the elastic sewn completely around it. I hate when the sheet only has the corners done. The sheet always pops off like this. This fitted sheet also is a deep pocket sheet. It can fit a very large mattress. It’s 18”, so I would say 16” well. You want it to be able to wrap the sheet around to the underside. Since it is a Polyester sheet set, with a microfiber feel, they are so easy to wash and dry. They don’t wrinkle as much as cotton. These are not ultra-thin like a lot of microfiber is. They will definitely last longer than others I’ve had in the past for the kids. They are basic sheets, nothing fancy. But for the price, they are pretty nice! They have them available in 10 other colors right now, and offer them in Twin, Full, Queen, King, and California King. You really can’t go wrong with this set.

Bathroom Style. – Stainless Steel Mason Jar Toothbrush Holder by Nicole-Rhea.

Anything mason jar is all the rage right now. It’s a classic that keeps coming back. It has made its’ way into all the rooms of our homes, ranging from cups, storage, candle holders, and now, toothbrush holders. This toothbrush holder from Nicole-Rhea is so cute. It is really a mason jar, with a retro fit top on it to accommodate 4 tooth brushes. It is a standard size 16oz Mason Jar, and will fit up to 4 standard sized toothbrushes. If you had an electric one, you would have to unscrew the top off of it. I normally use an OralB toothbrush, and those fit in through the top, perfectly. This is glass, so make sure you have a secure place on your countertop to place it. Glass is the last thing you want breaking in your bathroom. The top of this jar is made out of 304 stainless steel. It should not rust on you. My top was made really well. The holes can be sharp, so this will not be good with little children. We know how much they love to shove their fingers into everything. The top is threaded well also. I have no issues removing it and putting it back on. If you have a smaller countertop/bathroom, this is nice to have. Since it’s clear, it visually takes up less space, and looks nice and fresh in the space, as well. It arrives with jute cord wrapped around the top if the jar. It’s easily replaceable, as needed. Since it is in the bathroom, you’ll need to clean this jar frequently. It may end up needing replacement. You can attach any type of cord, ribbon, or more jute of your choice. I like how you can change the look around the holidays. For example: Christmas ribbon around Christmas. Birthday ribbon around someone’s birthday. You have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Veteran’s day, and so much more. You can even just color coordinate it to your bathroom décor. My favorite part of the jar, is where it says made in the USA. I always love seeing that. Since it is part of the glass, it can never be removed, too. You can use this for other reasons too. If you think outside of the box, you can use this for your special pens on your desk, or as a bud vase as well. It comes nicely packaged. Unfortunately, my box was opened up inside the box Amazon shipped it in. But, that was not the fault of the company. Overall, it’s a well-made product, and functions beautifully as well.

Protect that table! – MJH Innovations’ Picnic Time Bamboo Coasters.

One of my sons quickly found out one day, why you have to use a coaster. As soon as I bought him a new desk a few years ago, he immediately places his mug of coffee down on it. It left a white ring on it within seconds. You should have seen his face, lol. So, if you have wood furniture, coasters are a necessity. I received this set of 12, 100% bamboo coasters from MJH Innovations. They also have them available in a set of 6, and a set of 24. The coasters are exact replicas of themselves. These are all wood, and there is no backing on them, like felt, or silicon, to keep them from sliding. So, in regards to little kids using them, they probably wouldn’t work. I can picture the coasters flying off the table due to little hands, lol. These coasters are great for adults, who carefully place their drinks down on them. They do have cuts down the center of them. These are flat to the surface, so there is no rocking of the coaster, unless your table is uneven. The coaster top and bottom are perfectly flat. There is a total of 7 cuts down the center of each coaster. If your cups sweat, the fluid will enter these grooves. This helps keep the top of the coaster non slippery. When you are done using them though, make sure you dry off the coasters, to ensure their longevity. Otherwise, water will eventual dry out these coasters. The set arrives plainly wrapped in a cellophane wrapper. I wish these had a coaster holder. It would have made these a really nice set. You can always add your own backing, or those peel and stick felt feet sold at your local hardware store, if needed. I love the two tone color scheme with the dark and light bamboo. Bamboo is also a very eco-friendly material as well. The coasters have no chemical odor to them. You can actually just smell the nice scent of wood. I was happy to see that they didn’t heavily treat these with chemicals. It’s becoming a common practice nowadays. Mine arrived in great condition. Only one had a stray cut down one of the grooves, but it doesn’t deter from the function or beauty of them. They measure out at 3.75” in diameter, with my ruler, and 5/16^th of an inch thick. They have a warning label on the back of them as well that states to only wash with a damp cloth, to help prevent cracking and warping of the wood. I have had no issues with various styles of cups on these coasters. I usually drink out of my Yeti cup, lol, bit I tried others: glass, plastic. I’ve had no issues. My home is air conditioned, so I haven’t had big sweating issues, where water would run from the grooves onto the table.

Now, on another note with these coasters, we love their look. We plan on doing something artistic with them. Be it, including them into a cabinet build, as part of a door facing. We are still thinking about it. We love them lined up together, in a square configuration. They have a really dramatic look that way. If incorporated in the door, of a center door of a cabinet. That would be a great focal point, and very eye catching. You can have the kids make decorations with these as well. Drill little holes in them, and make incredible gift tags around the holidays. You can make these part of a gift basket that includes wine, wine glasses, and cheeses. Be creative, have fun. This is a well-made, beautiful product.

Yes, LEDs! – Innovative Goods’ Lux LED 60W Equivalent Light Bulb 6-Pack.

Yea, LEDs. This lady loves LEDs, lol. Ever since we started switching over, and saw how much the electricity bill actually came down, I was hooked. That, and the fact that a while back, my older son, while goofing around with his friends, smashed a CFL bulb, in his room. Those bulbs have Mercury in them. Wow, did that freak me out. I threw so much stuff away. It took forever to clean, and he was banished from his room for over a week. Regular bulbs cost a lot to run, and shatter and make a dangerous mess. CFL bulbs are dangerous when broken, and can’t just be thrown away into the regular trash. That right there is a giant red flag not to own one. It turns out that they emit radiation also. I mean, geez, what were we thinking. The only logical bulb to have, is a LED bulb. Fortunately, they are finally coming down in price. I love this set I just received from Innovative Goods. It is their Lux LED set of 6 bulbs. Each bulb gives off 750 lumens of light, and is a 60W equivalent. These bulbs use 9W of power, which is a little more than some other 60W equivalent bulbs, but the light output is very, very bright! And, it is 51W less than a regular 60W bulb. That is a huge difference. Each bulb is also rated for 10,000 hours of usage. I removed two 60W bulbs from my fan, and placed these 2 bulbs in their place. The other lightbulb I have in my fan is a Bluetooth bulb, lol. Anyhow, I was so shocked at the difference in light. These are sooooo much brighter. They are truly 750 lumens. Thank goodness these bulbs are done with the white plastic covering. This light is easy on the eyes. The light is a warmer light. Not that stark morgue, looking light. On the Kelvin scale, they are rated at 2700K, which means it’s at the warmer of the white light scale. Another great benefit to these bulbs, at this price point, is that they are dimmable bulbs. Now, just because they are dimmable bulbs does not mean you will be able to dim them in your home. If you have an older dimming switch in your home, it is not LED compatible, and it won’t dim your bulbs. You’ll need to go to your local hardware store, and purchase a new LED dimmable switch. Those can dim regular bulbs as well. It turns out, a lot of people do not know this. These bulbs are plastic, not glass. So, not only won’t they shatter if your kid hits it with a toy, but they also do not have dangerous chemicals in them as well. I really like this set. My camera can’t do the light output justice. It immediately dims the light down to take the photo, unfortunately. That’s what happen with an automatic camera, which happens to be my phone, lol.

Yes, staplers with power! – Sharpcarts’ 25 Sheet Capacity Electric Stapler.

One of my pet peeves are staplers. They are so annoying to me. Even if I am trying to put in one staple into one sheet of paper, I can manage to jam it up, or have it not fully go through the one piece of paper. I kid you not! Staplers are not my friend. I was beyond ecstatic to come across this automatic, electric stapler from Sharpcart. There is no squeezing involved, you just shove your pile of papers into the opening, and BAM, it staples it for you. Yes, it is an automatic stapler. There is nothing I do not love about this baby. It is small, but packs a punch. It actually has a 25 page capacity. It is electric, but can be run off of battery power also. Underneath the stapler, you will see the battery compartment. No tool is necessary to access the compartment either. It takes 4, AA batteries. Now, in the package you will get 1 instruction pamphlet, 1 AC power cord, and 1 stapler. Unfortunately, no staples are included. So, I guess there is one thing I didn’t like about it, lol. Now, for the 25 sheets of paper it’s capable of stapling with one staple. The paper cannot be heavier than 20lb paper. So, most everyday printing will be alright. If you are using a heavier stock, then you will have to adjust it accordingly. I stapled some thicker paper for my husband, and his packet had 13 sheets in it. It went through like butter. The irony here is that the staples I used in my new electric stapler, were the ones that came with my cheap, regular stapler. For some reason they can’t go through one sheet with a regular stapler, but put some power behind it with the electric stapler, and ba bam, it goes through many sheets at a time. See, Tim the Tool Man Tayler from the TV show, Home Improvement, was right. All you need is, More Power! This stapler is so easy to utilize too. There is a push button on the back of it that states, “PUSH”. Just press this, and the staple compartment will pop out. Just finish pulling it outward by hand, and fill it with staples. Push it shut, and then, either plug it in, or place batteries in it. You are ready to go. The plug is a regular 2 prong plug. Then you are good to go. You can’t miss the slot you push the paper into to staple. You might want to practice a bit on scrap paper, to get a feel for the correct area of where it actually staples on your paper. You can easily adjust the depth of where your stapler staples as well:

On each side of the stapler, at the back of the paper opening, you will see a black button like objust. Grasp each side, and then start pulling them toward the front of the stapler. This is how you adjust the depth. See, yet again, so user friendly. It really couldn’t get any easier. It uses sizes 24/6 and 26/6 sized staples. Now, the stapler is lightweight. The body is made out of ABS plastic. It is only offered in black, and its’ pretty sleek looking. You can staple very fast as well, which makes you more efficient at work. I am loving this new stapler, and I am very comfortable recommending it.
