Whether you are in the middle of a remodel, or just want to freshen up a room, these wall panels sent to me from 3D Wall Panels – CSI Wall Panels, will definitely do the trick. We happen to be in the middle of a renovation. The home is from the 1960’s, and definitely needs some modernization. What I love about these wall panels, is that you do not have to only choose an ultra-modern design, but you can choose more neutral designs as well. There is something for everyone. They offer a YouTube video to show you how simple it is to install these panels. You do not need a professional to install, which is always a benefit to the wallet, lol. Although, my husband is a master carpenter and a commercial electrician, so I did have the upper hand. These wall panels are appropriate for home, office, and commercial properties. They come unfinished, and will need to be painted by you. I was given a panel of wall panel choices to choose from. They were made from either one of these choices:

I chose the wood wall look, done in the MDF wood fiber material. The natural finish is more of a light brown. Besides providing the paint to finish, we also had to buy adhesive to mount them to the wall. We repainted our wall before applying the panels. You will want to mount them to a clean, dry surface. These wall panels have an A+ air emissions rating, so they are healthy to have them in home. They are 100% Natural, eco-friendly, and 100% of the wood is from well managed forests. I am really happy with these panels over all. I have insane allergies and asthma, and I have had absolutely no irritation from thee panels at all. The company obviously has pride in the products they sell, and it shows.

I received two boxes of wall panels. Each box contained 10 panels, which covers approx.. 27sqft each. Make sure you let the panels acclimate to the temperature in your room, where you are doing the install, approx.. 24 hours before you apply them. We let them sit about 4 days, since we were waiting for the weekend. Each panel measures out at 19.68?x 19.68? inches. However, they are all nominal. The way the come out of the machine, they are not all exactly the same. So, measure and trim before install. That is what we discovered. My husband said this is too be expected, and experiences this with tile all of the time, too. The adhesive we used to install the panels is Power Grab by Loctite. He really liked how well this adhesive worked. The panels held very well, and didn’t need to be taped while the adhesive took hold. Now, besides measuring and trimming your panels, you will also want to sand down the edges. Really check out each panel. Ours had mildly rough edges, from the way they were made. So, sand them down before mounting them. Below are two pictures of a painted sample with rough edges. You can sand the edges down and repaint without difficulty.

Then, make sure you mark your center line when you start your layout. You want to apply your adhesive to the back of the panel, on all of the raised surfaces, then apply them to your wall. Once all of your panels are up, according to your plan, it is time to prime, and then paint your panels. The panels dry fairly quickly, as the boards are quite absorbent.

You may need to re-sand the edges after the primer dries. That is something you will have to decide. We chose a high gloss paint, for that smooth, modern finish. We set up our own spray tent area with visqueen and painters tape. That way our area was protected from any overspray mist. The spray technique really allows you to get that smooth, sleek finish. We used Valspar High Gloss Lacquer in White. This paint really worked well on the panels, and no special sprayer was needed. Since we only did a section on our wall, we trimmed out the panels with premium grade 1x2s. Then we used caulk to fill in the gap. That was also really simple and fairly inexpensive to do. You want to prime and paint the panels after they are installed on the wall. That way you can also make sure any spacing between the panels is also painted, for a smooth finished product.

Our panels were nice and solid, and easy to work with. We did not have any damaged panels in our shipment. We are extremely happy with the finished product. We love it as our background for the electric fireplace we installed. It adds so much style and flare to the room. With the lacquer finish that we chose, it adds a lot of shine to them when the light hits it just so. If you are doing renovations, and have been walking the home improvement stores, you know how pricey everything can be. It’s a shock really. I have a love/hate relationship with HGTV, because I swear these shows help raise the cost of these type of products. You shouldn’t have to spend a fortune just to replace a faucet or shower head.

I’ve had the pleasure of being able to test out some of the Loban store products on Amazon. They have products that cover the kitchen and bathroom arenas in regards to faucets, shower heads and systems, brackets, shower arms, water hoses and adapters, accessories, and more.

They offer products in many finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brass, Antique Finishes, Brushed Nickel, Chrome, and Gold Tone. They have very modern, classic, and what I call Fancy designs, to choose from. They even offer hands free faucets on their storefront as well. Hands free sounds very exciting to me. I have tested out a few featured in this review. One taller, 12” waterfall faucet. It can be used with both a vessel sink and a regular sink. A shiny gold 10” shower head, that has LED lights in it. That is really fun by the way. 2 Shower arms at just under 16”: Chrome, and Stainless. The last item I just reviewed is what I call a modern throw back to a tub filler, set up.

This particular tub filler has a waterfall effect to it, in regards to how the water comes out. The tub spout actually swivels side to side as well. It has two separate knobs for hot and cold, and a switch that moves it from tub filler, to spray nozzle. With this particular tub filler, you have to have a separate control installed for your shower head, if it is a tub/shower combination. The spray nozzle, and this tub filler, reminds me of an old fashioned telephone. This set up is great to wash your pets with, your kids with, or even your feet, if that is all that needs washing.

The shower head arms are made well, and have a very modern look to them. Since these extend out further, and straight, they can handle rain shower, shower heads, easily. They come with a square deck plate, that really gives it a polished, modern look. The Gold shower head I received is also available in their shop in other finishes, and sizes. I love, love, love, the added touch of LED lights. They go on only when the water is running. I didn’t realize how fun they were to have until I saw them in person. It’s a great feature. They use brass construction in their faucets, as well as ceramic discs. These really help keep them drip free, and working well.

Out of the ones I have just tested, and the ones I have tested in the past, I have had great luck with them. I’ve only had one leak at a seam, and it was an obvious manufacturing booboo. It was a bronze version of the Gold shower head, which works beautifully by the way. I haven’t had any odd noises associated with the products I have tested.

We have a few installed for daily use in our home now, and have had no issues at all. In fact, the faucet at the home we are renovating runs better than my moms’ name brand one. We haven’t had any dripping issues, or have had any products stop functioning like they should. They sell towel holders, and soap dishes and more. The prices are great, and they have been very pleasant to deal with. Overall, I am really happy with these products. They are made well, have sturdy construction. I am comfortable recommending these products.

A perfect home accessory. – Votamuta’s Tissue Roll Hanger Wall Mount Contemporary Style, Brushed Finish

It’s not always convenient to mount a product to your walls. For some reason the tp holder in my mom’s room keeps getting pulled out of the wall. I think it’s the area on the wall, It’s next to her walk in closet, and there are no direst studs in that area, and we are using wall anchors. Even if she just hits it with her knee, it’s coming off. I recently bought her one like this, and it works so much better. Now, some people aren’t handy, or have tiled walls, and don’t or can’t attach product that involve drilling. So, again, this peel and stick product is perfect. The entire back plate is covered with a thick, double sided sticky adhesive tape. (The tape is 3 ¼” x 1 5/8^th”.) It mounts, and stays. Make sure you are level prior to mounting it. Take out your level, and dry a small line, where you want to place it, and then place it on the line. It’s not moving once put in place. Make sure the area is nice and clean and dry before mounting it also, for longer adherence. This item is very sturdy. It is made better than the one I had bought my mom. The material is rust proof T-304 stainless steel. And pretty thick as well. There is a slight upswing of the arm, to then end of the arm. This, I’m sure, is to make sure your tp roll stays put, while in use. There is a ½” arm that sticks up to also make sure it does. I have no issues. We use the big TP Scott roll, and it fits on this perfectly. This is a great one for tight spaces as well, since it only protrudes out as for as your toilet paper roll, lol. The holders’ measurements are: 5 ¼” x 3 7/8^th” in size. Even though it is stainless steel it has a great brushed finish, and looks great paired with brushed nickel finishes. This product can also be used with dish towels/hand towels. I am using mine for my kitchen dish towel. I do not want to hang a towel for my door, so I hung this on the side of the cabinet that faces my sink. I love it there, since it lies so flat, and holds the towel perfectly. This is a very handy and useful piece. I’m so glad it’s well made and easy to mount as well.

It’s shower time. – Votamuta’s Modern Oil Rubbed Bronze Square Rain Shower Head, Faucet Valve Mixer Tap, Waterfall & Rain Shower Sprayer, Wall Mounted

When this first arrived, I thought it was broken, lol. It turns out, that to make shipping it easier, and to lessen the chance of breakage during hipping, they place the water connections into the main shower unit, not attached. Just unscrew the top panel. It requires a regular sized Phillips Head screwdriver. Then thread the two brass fittings through the coordinating holes, and attach them into place with the coordinating brass nuts. Then just screw the panel back on. Now, unless you have a two-hole shower set-up already in place, this unit will require a replumb, even if you are not setting up the sprayer with it. It is not an either or situation, it requires a separate water feed for both the waterfall and the rain shower, shower heads. Now, no actual water line comes with this unit. You need to supply all of the actual lines to both head units, and then the sprayer unit. We are not fond of the sprayer unit. It is not made up to the same quality as the shower head unit, and main hand control center. Those are done pretty well.

Now, you can forgo the sprayer unit, and attach your tub feed into that port. Then with the switch over switch, it would go from tub to shower, not shower to sprayer. Our main concern with the sprayer is the threaded area where you would attach your water line. It’s plastic, and even with tape, can leak. The shower unit itself uses heavy duty brass fittings. The main unit with the handle, is where you attach the hot to one side, and the cold to the other side. The top feed is where the water comes out and heads to the shower head. You will need to supple your own splitter here, so one mixed feed heads to the rain shower head, and the other mixed temp feed heads to the waterfall feature at the same time. This main unit is heavy duty, solid brass, and made very well. It’s threaded perfectly on ours, and my husband who is in construction, is very happy with it.

They include two drive pins to install the shower head with. These are for a concrete wall install. More than likely you will need to get your own hardware that matches your particular construction setup. Overall, this unit has a very striking look. The majority of it is made well, and out of brass and metal. The oil rubbed bronze finish is really pretty. Mine arrived with no scratches on it. You need to have solid water pressure at your home, or this unit will not be overly enjoyable for you. It puts out a lot of water at one time, so your pressure needs to be pretty darn good. It gives your shower a very modern look, but with a classic color.

Inspection time. – [Upgraded Version] Ragu Directs’ Distianert Endoscope 8.5MM 2.0 Megapixel 2 In 1 Smartphone + USB

My husband and older son are commercial electricians, and carpenters. They work in really tight spaces sometimes, and when they go into an existing build and have to trouble shoot problems, an endoscope really helps them out. They already have and use one, so we are not new to them. We were happy to see this upgraded version. We already have one that we use via our Android phones and one that you need your computer on deck, to use it. This one has upped the game with technology, at an affordable price. We have Samsung phones: Edge 6 and Note 5, in our homes. This unit just plugs and plays via the camera. You need to flip up half of the USB port, to turn it into the micro USB end. Then attach it to your phone, and open up your camera. You have to agree to it, and then you are in. Then just follow the icons to snap photos or take videos. That is literally all you have to do. Your chosen decide you plug it into, is what powers it. As soon as you plug it in, the 6 LEDs turn on. They are very bright. Now, even though it is highly usable without the app on my phone, I went ahead and scanned the QR code in the instructional booklet, after using it both on my phone and laptop. So, it isn’t necessary, if you have limited space on your phone. The app is called UsbCamera, and it is free. You can’t even look at the app without the camera not being plugged in either. Then, you still have to allow your phone to use the camera for the USB. So, there really is no difference on my Note 5. This endoscope comes with drawstring storage bag, head attachments, an instruction booklet, and a mini CD. Now, I have a newer laptop with Windows 10 on it. I never install via a disc, unless I have too. So, I always try things straight forward, and then try the items it comes with, to really test out a product. It literally plugged into my laptop, and automatically installed its’ drivers. I never had to load the mini disc. This unit is 13ft long, and the head diameter is 8.5mm. It comes with a mirror, hook, and magnet attachments. They are simple attachments, and the magnet keeps coming loose on me. It is waterproof. So no worries about looking into clogged drains and toilets. Now. I did delete the app off of my phone shortly after install. With use, it stopped working well with the endoscope for me. It works better as plug and play on my phone. I was not able to separately control my LEDs, in regards to their brightness levels. That didn’t matter to me. They are bright, and when you shove it into places, it’s normally dark where you’re using it. The images aren’t as clear as my regular camera, or laptop camera is, but the images are still legible. These are the resolution specs from their site: “1600*1200 & 2.0 Megapixel.” You can tell it’s a 2megapixel camera. But, since this can send you a clear enough image to diagnose with, it’s all we need. It has been working well for us. We love the plug and play simplicity with the phone. It is so much more convenient for my guys this way. And it fits into any tool bag, as well.

Privacy achieved. – Danaces’ Self-Adhesive Window Film Sticker.

We are renovating a home. In the Master Bathroom, there is a large window. We toyed with the idea of applying spray window frosting to the glass, but that is not reversible, and it doesn’t always come out even, which is so ugly. I was very excited to see this window cling. We have used window cling in the past on my mother’s French doors, so the concept is not new to me. The only reason she removed it, was because she replaced her doors, lol. It was still going strong.

This window cling arrives with very clear, installation instructions. That is key. It arrives, tightly rolled up, which is usual for this type of product. Be very, very careful peeling the cellophane wrapper off of the roll. I almost ripped part of my instructions. Now, the window film itself is a nice thickness. It has the frosted look that I was looking for. I suggest making a templet out of cardboard, or thick, cardstock paper, and then trace it onto the film, and cut accordingly. If you have small panes, like I do, make sure you make it a little bigger, and then trim to fit with a box cutter, while it’s adhered to the window. When you install this film, make sure you thoroughly clean your window first. Then, spray it with some mildly soapy water, and apply your window film. Do not forget to peel off the backing on the window film. Lol, I did the first time, and was so frustrated. They even clearly state it in their directions, too. Then squeegee it, to get out the excess water and air bubbles. When you are all done, cut off the excess window film. I am really, really pleased with the outcome.

I cannot believe how well it stays up, and how much privacy it actually affords you. It is so wonderful, and a relief to me since we were doing it to a bathroom window. That is a room you really want privacy in. Besides privacy, this window film also blocks out light, UV rays, and helps energy conservation. That is key for us also, it’s an older home with older windows. The roll is indeed 17.7” wide by 78.7” long. So, measure out your window first, and plan on how much you will need prior to ordering. I absolutely love this product, and I like that they have it available in several different options. We did just half of the window for the review, to show the drastic difference. My window will be completely covered, and I am just thrilled with it. I am very comfortable recommending this product.

You can actually plug in 4 USBs at the same time, and it does not slow this baby down. You really get great charging speed with this outlet. They even include two plate covers with this product. A flat one with no screw holes, and the traditional one we are all used too. This outlet will sit a little deeper than your average outlet, but you shouldn’t have any issues. The depth into the wall is 1 ½”. It arrives with the newer styled top plate attached. Just use a flat top screwdriver to separate them. The have a little pictograph attach to it telling you to do so. The first time I tried this with a new plug, I thought I was going to break it, lol, but you won’t. Being a smart charger, it can detect what your particular product needs, and it will only deliver that much. I can charge my tablets and my smart phones with ease. You can charge up batteries for your camera and more from these. Whatever you charge from USB can be charged from this outlet. This is a regular UL listed outlet and accepts #14-#12 AWG wire. It’s an easy swap out if you have up to date wiring in your home. They even include great, easy instructions to follow, if needed. Quality wise, this is a very well made unit. I love the modern look, but I also like the option of having a regular plate with it. That is perfect if you want it to match up with a nearby outlet. The charging is quick and reliable. We are really happy with this product.

A great way to detect moisture lurking in your home. – Sgot’s Obecome LCD Display Digital Wood Moisture Meter.

Years ago I was a Real Estate agent for a while. It was important to make sure the inspector tested areas for moisture during a home inspection. Every since then I have realized about the importance of knowing these things. I think it should be part of your household tools. Water is so damaging to your home and health, if mold starts to grow because of it. This particular unit from Sgot comes with the 9V battery, and a great zippered storage case to keep it in. The instructions are written in broken English, lol, but are still easy to follow. This unit will give you a lower power indicator. If you are using this for your job, I suggest carrying an extra battery with you. It is simple to operate. The top of the unit comes off with a push of the button, and pull of the top, at the same time. The battery compartment can be accessed without a tool, so it’s quick and simple to place the battery in it. The power button is clearly marked on it as well. After you take the top off, turn it on, and place the spikes into what you are testing. They recommend about 5mm. Instead of questioning if you have a slow leak in your shower, test it. If you think the water is flowing to far toward your home, check your exterior walls, and see if they are holding moisture. And so on, and so on. The LCD screen on this unit is large and clear. It will work in temperatures ranging from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 104degrees Fahrenheit. It is small, lightweight, and high portable. The measuring range is 5 – 40% with a +/-1% accuracy. When you are doing a wall check, let’s say, you want to work your way up from the base to see how far the water issue is running. This unit even has the ability to store some of your recent measurements. That is pretty handy if you are checking multiple areas. Overall, I am pretty happy with this unit. It’s easy to use and read. What else can you ask for.

We are ruled by our electronics nowadays. Ok, it might not be that bad, but our home wiring does need to be updated to meet our modern day needs. I hate looking for adapters. There are 2 high speed USB outlets as well as 1 3-prong plug, in this unit. The 2 USB ports were done well. Your USBs will have a nice, snug fit, with perfect charging. They are 4.8A total output between the 2. These ports are smart ports as well. They recognize your device, and deliver the power it needs to charge it, and nothing more. For example, an IPhone uses around 1A to charge, whereas my Note 5 likes 2A. It installs easily. You do need to provide your own wall plate. The USB modules are even replaceable. The top of the unit lifts off if you use a flat head screw driver to pry it up from the side of it. The instruction sheet that comes with this unit is really easy to understand and follow. With the wires the white is the neutral, the black is the hot, and the green is the ground. Like I said, easy to install. Lol, make sure you turn the power off before switching out your outlet. They even provide a 2 year warranty with this product.

It’s so nice to not have to use adapters. It makes for a cleaner look as well. Outlets like this one just make it better. Especially if you have a counter top area where you always charge your items. Or bedside, at each side of the bed, for the two of you to charge your phones and tablets, while you sleep. You really can’t get more convenient. With a little investment, you really do up the value of your home as well.
