I am really enjoying the usefulness of Ozark Armament’s 45 Degree Offset Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount. I absolutely love my AR, but unfortunately recently figured out that even though I am right handed, I am left eye dominant. I so wanted to use a combo of a simple red dot and iron sites. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to be afforded the opportunity to review this mount in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. There’s something about just using iron sight’s that really calls to me. Until I can master my left eye, I am going to have to get a scope. With this offset rail mount, I can have both on my AR at the same time. Even if you swear by a red dot, I am a firm believer in having a back up plan. I took a photo of a stripped upper , so you can get the idea of what I am talking about. There is a simple red dot, and one iron site on the 45 degree rail mount. I just think that’s perfect! With these, it’s so easy to have both, and to have both sighted in. This 45 degree rail mount is black anodized aluminum. It’s made very well. It’s very straight forward to attach. If you can open and close a vise, then you can attach this, same principle. It has a very secure grip to. There is no movement whatsoever, even with jarring. Always check your firearm completely over before and after to make sure it’s still secure though, as with all attachments. You can use an attachment like this for more than sites. It’s quite versatile and useful. You can easily attach a laser or light . So many people are even adding a fixed knife to their AR’s. This would work for that too. This mount is so simple in design and form but has an incredible utilization factor. Many architects strive for this. I really can’t say enough about this 45 degree offset mount. It’s exactly what I needed. My husband is current military and we sat down with this piece and played with it. We both feel very comfortable in recommending this mount. Now I need to get another one for my front sight, lol.
