I was a little hesitant about reviewing this camera, after reading about the past issues with the audio. I did a bunch of research, and they implemented an audio fix this December. So, I took a chance, and I am really glad I did. The first thing Polaroid needs to do now, is improve the reading material included with the camera. It’s horrible. But, their online presence is perfect. I even emailed customer service to see how their response would be with issues, and they were really good too. Let me help you alleviate one issue I had to do with research, lol. You will more than likely need to download this application so you can hear the audio on your computer: http://videolan.org. It is free, it past my security with no issues, and it has been working flawlessly on my computer. There is a different application if you use a Mac. Polaroid has a website for all of their products, but than they also have a separate one just for the Cube Plus. Look under the support section, look for their audio section, and they mention the 2 applications for download. You will also need to download their Cube Plus app to your pad or phone. Once you do this, it walks you through connecting to their Wi-Fi. I thought that was so weird, and that they meant Bluetooth. Nope, they mean Wi-Fi. This tiny 1 1/2 inch cube camera, has it’s own Wi-Fi. Have your phone or tablet scan for it, when it picks it up, you type in this password, 1234567890. Then you just click on it and connect to it. Once you do, you can immediately see what your camera is seeing through your device, and do other things with the camera, that you can’t do from the camera alone. I am still learning and mastering these though. I am so happy with how the camera operates and handles movement. The quality is really good, and impressive because of it’s size. We have a name brand action cam, and this one really rivals it now that the audio is working well. I love the size of it. It is so light weight. The base of it is magnetic, and it has a really strong hold too. The two operating buttons are on the top of the camera. The Wi-Fi button is grey and is clearly labeled with the Wi-Fi symbol. The on/off/record/picture taking button is one button. It isn’t labeled, but it is the giant encircled area on the top of the camera. There is a little LED light also on top. To turn the camera on, you press and hold that button until you hear a beep. Then let the button go. Now, to take a photo, you short press the button once. To record, you double press it quickly. That LED light will go from green to flashing red letting you know it’s recording. It only goes to red for a second when you take a photo. That’s how you know your action was complete. On the back panel, you will see the door to access both the micro USB port to charge it, and the micro SD card slot. I love how they gave you an 8gb micro SD card to get started with. If you plan on doing a lot of recording, or a longer recording, you will need to get a much larger micro SD card. This little camera will actually take up to an 128gb micro SD card too. That is amazing, because most items do not! You want to make sure you get at least a class 10 for solid video quality. Otherwise, you won’t be happy. This camera will record for 90 minutes continuously. In your app, you can change your camera settings too. If you shoot in HD, your maximum record time will be less than 90 minutes. Your camera can get a little warm with a long run time, but that is normal. They state due to the large magnet, to clear it with your doctor if you have an implanted device that can be affected by that. I am so happy with the camera, that I’m going to go ahead and invest in accessories. With it’s size, and usability, it is so convenient and portable.
