I am thrilled that I was afforded the opportunity to review DBroth’s CloudPets 12in Talking Teddy Bear – The Huggable Pet to Keep in Touch Through the Cloud, Recordable Stuffed Animal, in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. This product arrives so cutely packaged, as shown.

My husband is out of town a lot with work, so this will be invaluable for us. He is currently overseas, and when I heard his voice through this bear for the first time, I cried. I have been testing it thoroughly with my husband, so he can surprise my son on Christmas morning. He will not be able to be here. It’s amazing how well it works. It took me only a few minutes to set up, and send him an invite. With the invite, he downloaded the app, and can now send messages directly to the bear. The audio is very loud and clear too. You can really hear people’s voices, and even their inflections through the speaker. You can immediately know who is leaving the message. After you send the message, they can replay the last message over and over. You do not need to resend the last message.

I learned how to use the Cloudpet through the Android app. It works on both IOS and Android. I am currently using it on my Note 5. My husband has the same phone. The app is free. You need to set up an account with a password, as well as your child’s. When I first went to pair, it took me three times for the initial pairing. After that, it pairs immediately on it’s own. This bear requires three AAs to work. They are not included, and you will need a small head Phillips screwdriver to access the battery compartment. It is located underneath the bear. As is the on/off button. Once you have set up the accounts, turn the bear on and start the Bluetooth pairing. For the code, I used 0000. It comes up as Cloudpets B 1.0.13. Once you are connected you can send and receive messages. There is also an option to play games, listen to music, and read stories. There are 3 stories and 4 songs, all of which lend toward younger children. When you receive a message from someone else, you as the parent, get to preview it first from your app. Then you choose which child from your app, and send it to them. I didn’t do this at first, I just tried to send it to the bear from my adult log in, lol. Doesn’t work this way. You will see your name at the top of the app. You will see a blue down arrow there too. Press on that, and your child or children’s names will pop up. Now pick one. Once you are there. Press messages, and when the messages pull up, you can preview it, and then send it to the bear. The bear needs to be on and connected. It should automatically connect once you have set it up. The bear’s heart will flash red when it receives the message. Your child just needs to press the paw with the blue Wi-Fi symbol, and the message comes through loud and clear. If your child wants to send a message, they need to press the paw with the red Wi-Fi symbol, and speak their message, and then you can send it. Prepare for tears the first time. Deployments are brutal on the whole family, and this is such an easy way to truly send some love. To hear someone’s voice this way, is a little over whelming when it comes to the emotional aspect. It’s very important to hear I miss and love you, or a silly joke from the actual parent or loved one, instead of being told it by someone else. A message up to 10 seconds in length can be recorded. Now, my husband and I have been messaging each other during our test period. When a new message arrives, you will get a notification on your phone, or tablet. Whichever you set the app up on. Right now I have a Cloudpets notification telling me I have 2 messages. The Cloudpets websites has great videos on it to walk you through the steps if you get confused. As specifications, for Android and IOS, you need at least Bluetooth 4.0, and Android or IOS 4.0. Now, when I first went to send a message to the bear, I did have a firmware update to load. Leave your Cloudpet turned on and do the firmware update. Then you need to turn the bear off for a minute, before restarting it. Let it reconnect, which it will do automatically. Now you an send the message, if this comes up. My Cloudpet has been working flawlessly. The sound quality is perfect, as well as the app and their website. I am so overjoyed with what this can do, and how much it can deliver emotionally to a child.
