We, as a family believe in being prepared. This is one way to make sure you are prepared in your car. So many people think of their homes, but then forget to prepare their cars. We all have a multi-safety tool in our vehicle, but this one beats them all. Ours do not have a knife and fire starter built into them. I do have a separate knife and fire starter though. I love having it all together like this. This one can stay in either the center consul or glove compartment. It takes up like no room at all too. I love, love, love that they included the Nylon Sheath too. It has a belt loop sewn onto it too, in case you want to carry it on you. Check your state for laws regarding blade length. The front part of the knife is done in the drop point style, and the material used to make this unit is Stainless Steel with an anodized aluminum handle. We are allowed to carry a 4 inch blade and less, here in NC. The blade is a basic partially serrated blade. The blade on this knife is a 3.5 inch blade, and the whole unit is 5 inches long. You can also carry it on you with the attached belt clip. The belt clip is screwed on, and pretty strong. The other tools built into the unit are the seat belt cutter, and the glass breaker hammer. These are two essentials that all cars should always have in them. Located up by the seatbelt cutter, which is pretty sharp, is the magnesium fire starter. Just pull it out and use your knife as the scraper. That could save your life if your car broke down in the middle of nowhere. Last but not least is the LED flashlight. It comes with button batteries already installed. They are replaceable, and the instructions are included. This can be easy to accidently turn on. When you put it in the holster, place it in seatbelt cutter side down. If you turn the flashlight clockwise, it turns on, counter clockwise turns it off. The flashlight comes out, so careful you do not lose it. It is always a great thing to have a backup lighting source, even if it’s small. The LED isn’t replaceable, but LEDs last so long, and are quite durable. The knife is a liner lock knife. It opens with your thumb, and then to shut it, you need to use your thumb to push aside the liner bar, while pushing it closed with your other fingers. It can be done one handed easily with this knife. The overall quality of this product is solid. It works as described, and quite well too. I am amazed at how handy this product is. It is making my son’s car safer now. So I am obviously very comfortable in recommending this product.
