Every home needs a radio, and this is a good one to have in an emergency. – Number One Shop’s FM/AM/SW Full-band World Radio.

Standard

Growing up I can always remember having a radio in our home. If the power or cable went out, we cold always keep up with what’s going in, with a radio. This radio is set up perfectly for that. I am quite pleased that I was afforded the opportunity to review Number One Shop’s FM/AM/SW Full-band World Radio in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. In your package you will receive one radio, one AC charging adapter, and one sheet of instructions. This radio comes with the rechargeable lithium battery pack, but also has room for 3 AA batteries. This serves as an additional back up battery source.

This radio has several different power sources. The first thing it has is the AC power cord and charger. You can plug it in and use it. It also charges the included lithium battery pack. It can be played solely with this when charged. Also, located on the back of the radio, is a battery compartment that not only holds the lithium battery pack, but 3 AA batteries. You need to supply the batteries. No tools are needed to access this battery compartment. The other power source available on this radio is the hand crank. It will charge up that lithium battery pack, and burn a couple calories at the same time, lol. It’s not hard to turn at all. If you are facing the radio, the hand crank is located on the left. This is probably one of the easier broad ranged radios I have used. You really do not need the instructions with this one. The built in handle strap is also a great addition. It’s a thick, padded vinyl, and it lies flat when not in use. The power cord attaches to the port on the back of the radio. The antennae is also located on the back, but towards the top of the radio. Depending on where you live, you will more than likely need to use an antennae to get a strong enough signal for the radio. This is mainly for the SW1 and SW2 bands. This radio has FM, SW1, SW2, and Am radio on it. The radio controls are located on the front and right side of the radio. The volume and station knobs are on the right side. The station knob has two knobs in one. The smaller inner knob scans the stations more slowly than the outer know. The band knob is on the front. It’s the large circular switch you get to choose FM, SW1, SW2 and Am from. Right above this are two switches. The one on the left operates the built in flash light. Push up for on, and down for off. The one to the right of this one, has push up once to play off of battery, push up twice to play off of the adapter. The flashlight on this radio will work while the radio is playing. The volume can get pretty loud on this radio. The flashlight puts off a nice amount of light too. It is an LED flashlight. It puts off a bright, clear white light. LED’s are more durable. They last sooo much longer, and are more energy efficient to run. In a power outage, you will be quite grateful to have this, that’s for sure. It’s only 63/4″ wide and 53/4″ tall by 2″ deep. It’s handy to take along camping, in a RV, and to have out in your home for when it’s needed. This is definitely a great, easy to use radio. It’s the perfect addition for any home.
